Thai High – A Romantic destination @ the Qutab Place, New Delhi

On a very pleasant summer
evening, we drove towards the Qutub to have a fine dining experience at ThaiHigh.The perfect drive through vacant
roads overlooking the green belt was indeed beautiful. 

Thai High is located on the top floor of a tall building that is nestled amidst buzy market of the Qutab Place. The lift
opened to a mesmerizing and grand opening of a fine dining place that resembled
a mini Thailand.
Smiling attendants ushered us to our seats in the open dining
area where soft and dim lights accentuated the dining experience. The scenic
beauty is very enchanting with a perfect view of the Qutub Minar that looks
mesmerizing.
The statues of Buddha evoke a
sense of spirituality and calm. Thai High is a brilliant concoction of Thai
recipes with Malaysian cuisine thrown in. The wide variety of dishes include
prawns, squids, lobster and variety of fish, that made our dining experience
extremely palatable and delightful.
We chose some interesting
appetizers to begin with. The crispy vegetables and spring rolls arrived quite
on time. Flavored with lemongrass, the fried crispy vegetables are served with
sweet chilli sauce that accentuates the flavor, while the spring rolls do
justice to the combination of crispy outer covering and the fillings of sautéed
vegetables.
The appetizers were pleasing and
we enjoyed them truly. To make the journey more interesting, we ordered soups. We
chose Veg. Tom yam soup, Veg. Tom kha soup and Kway teon nam kai soup (Flat
rice noodles soup).
If you love fresh sautéed garlic,
then the Tom Yam soup is perfect for you and if you are a lover of creamy
coconut like me, then the Tom Kha should not be missed. I loved this soup as it
had the perfect blend of Thai flavors and vegetables.
The main course consisted of Ney kratium phrik
pu (Crab in butter garlic & black pepper sauce), Kaeng pet (Thai fish red
curry) and Veg. Phad thai (Flat rice noodles ). I have to admit the Thai curry
was the best I have ever admitted. The veg phad thai screams of flavor and
looks terrific with peanuts added on it. I would recommend crab lovers to try
the Ney kratium phrik pu as it gives justice to the thai flavors and does not
overpower the essence of crab meat.
We closed the scrumptious meal with
a delicious dessert called – Date on fire. Served with ice cream, this
flammable dessert took us by surprise as the server flared the dessert with old
monk and poured it on the date cake.
We loved the uniqueness of this dessert. The
teas served at Thai High are not just digestive, but great to taste. We ordered
for Rose tea, Jasmine tea and Dragon ball tea. Out of all three, my favorite
was the Rose tea as I could feel the freshness of rose petals with each sip.
This place is a must try if you
are looking for some romantic spots to indulge and feel at ease. While the
sensual delight is smothered with some amazing visual appeal, the taste buds
are also satiated with gastronomical indulgence.
