The Westin 100 Valentine – My perfect Valentine’s Day

Westin surprised me all over again
with the introduction of the Westin 100 Valentine this month. Incorporated with
team Incarnation, the Navigation Drive invited rally lovers to be a part of an
exciting rally from Westin Gurgaon to Westin Spa and Resort, Sohna.  I looked forward to participate in the
exciting car rally.

I reached the hotel on time and
got myself registered. There were families who had come to
participate along with their car. Each car had approximately 3 to 4 members to
make the car rally fun and exciting journey to Westin Sohna.
Westin organized a scrumptious
hot breakfast comprising of stuffed paranthas, idlis, dosas, poha along with
tea, coffee and juices. We were given a brief on the participation rules and
regulation and were handed a road map that had arrows and directions to guide
us through the route. It all seemed French to me, but I still looked forward to
it.
The “Feeling”:

One of the hardest things about
organizing this piece was trying to figure out where to begin. I have never
driven a rally car, so my evaluation of the rally feeling is based purely on my
watching rallying footage and listening to the comments of drivers.
The “Experience”
I had pampered my Honda since a
long time and knew it could pull it off well in the rally. After the flag-off, I
started the car on a very subtle speed.
At slow speeds, the car behaved
like a car should. Driving down at 60kph felt very similar to driving my road
car down a gravel road. To me, this was the first evidence of the incredible
authenticity of Car Rally’s physics system.
The Navigation Drive mentors didn’t
try to recreate an interpretation of “rally driving” by making the cars floaty
and drifty, but created cars to behave as they would in real life, whether it
be at 20kph or 80kph.
As I gradually gained the courage
to increase my speed, I began to understand how well the organizers of
Incarnation team had captured “the feeling” of rallying.
There were moments
when I felt like I was linking corners together and had the confidence to push,
but there were other times when I just couldn’t find the rhythm.
My navigator or “friend in disguise”
kept tracking me down and kept in constant touch to guide me throughout the
way.  I can still remember his supportive
words “I know you can do it” that helped me to stay in focus amidst rough
patches, rocky streets, puddles, unfriendly strangers and much more.
Having
online system ensures active tracking of participants and instantaneous results
as soon as last car check in. The blue line is the track to be used and magenta
is one of the “lost” participants.
In Car Rally, one bad corner is enough to
throw off your rhythm for the next 1-2 kilometers of the stage. When you
experience “a big moment” in the Navigation drive, you will feel flutters in
your chest and loose your entire pace and momentum. However, at the same time,
once you ease off and work back into a rhythm, you can rebuild your confidence
and find the ability to push again.
I finally reach the Westin Spa and Resort, Sohna
and after a welcome drink, I reach the team who give me an overwhelming warm
welcome. A lavish buffet was spread that ignited my appetite. I enjoyed the hot
lunch and relaxed myself under the warm sun and soothing environment. It was
time to announce the winner.
While I was wandering around, I heard my name announced
as the winner of the car rally. An unexpected win that was! I was shocked to
learn that my first car rally was a super success. I was awarded a trophy by
team incarnation.

The Conclusion:

So far, this review of Car Rally
has been overwhelmingly positive, and for good reason. Team Incarnation has created
a labor of love for families to enjoy. You can be a part of this fabulous
rally too. Join the westin 100 rally club and experience the good life courtesy
