Planet Hollywood Beach Resort – A Luxury Destination

Goa spells magic and I
experienced it on my recent visit to Planet Hollywood Beach Resort a few days back. The
moment me and my family stepped in this magical land, a fabulous sensation evoked me.

We approached the arrival area
where a polite young man with a placard mentioning my details was standing. He
took our luggage smilingly and ushered us towards the cab. Remote yet
accessible approximately 22 min, Planet Hollywood Goa  sits on Goa’s largest but least populated beach
-Utorda in South Goa.
The reception was the liveliest
one I ever saw. Luxury elements are all over the place the moment you step in. Smiling guest relation officers and a welcome kokum drink washed away my tiredness
and I was fresh as a daisy. The Resort has all you might need for your stay,
with helpful staff and an amazing spa.
The 115 rooms offer breathtaking
views of the Arabian Sea and beautifully landscaped gardens that are a feast
for the eye the moment you check in.
Each room in the resort has impossibly
chic furnishings, a laptop compatible electronic safe, and an individual
climate control system in-room tea/coffee maker. Highlights include the complimentary
leg massager that is both luxurious and pampering.
The Room – A luxurious paradise

We were given two Superior rooms by the resort. As I checked in my room, I was floored to see a cake with an edible card with Travreviews written on it.
There was a bottle of
champagne and some coconut sweets also waiting for us. These kinds of extras
make a stay much happier and memorable.
The amenities in the bathroom are
complete and of good quality. All the rooms have access to a large balcony to
sunbath, eat, drink and relax.
My absolute favorite part of the
room was the shower. It was huge, and with a full size window peeking towards
the room. I took a warm shower and headed towards the restaurant for some
hearty breakfast.
Planet Dailies – Succulent food served with a smile

I loved the wide dining area with
an alfresco that served the perfect source for sunlight. The breakfast buffet
was filled with so many goodies including eggs made to order, pancakes, fresh
fruit, waffles with chocolate sauce and various options of North Indian and
South Indian to choose from.
I’ll admit I’m a bit of a creature of habit, and
ended up having my regular dosa and sambhar the first day. The restaurant also
serves a la carte, and there is also a lunch/snack menu throughout the day.
Items from this menu can be ordered from the rooms as well.
The Pink Room Spa – Sinfully relaxing
The spa is a separate world
altogether. The moment you step inside, a positive vibration enters your body
and the lingering aroma soothes your senses with its charm. The staff at the
spa is very warm and welcoming, and the treatments are to die for. In the spa’s
relaxation room, as I cuddled up in a soft robe on a luxurious chaise, my
Therapist introduced herself with folded hands. I indulged in the Ayurveda
massage called the ‘Shirodhara’ that is perfect to soothe tense nerve muscles
and help to sleep.
My masseuse, made me lie facing downwards. She started pouring
warm oil on my forehead that seeped in my hair follicles for around half an
hour. She massaged the oil in my hair gently and soothed my forehead with
gentle strokes that put me in a deep sleep easily. The body massage with a
generous amount of oil that followed was a combination of rhythmic strokes,
joint movement and deep kneading that loosened and set my body at ease.
The knots in my back and legs
seemed to subside as the therapist was pacifying the pain. The sensation is
supremely calming that has a relaxing effect on muscles and nerves. A turmeric
facial massage for sunburned skin was my savior, followed by a pack. When she
had finished the treatment I took a shower. I bought almost every scent in the
spa’s signature soap line as I concluded my shower.
I could feel my skin springy,
soft, and ultra moisturized. The spa manager offered me herbal tea to
accentuate the tranquil sensation. I moved towards the salon for a blow dry. I
loved the entire spa experience and thanked the Spa Manager and her dedicated
team for the fabulous wellness odyssey.
I moved towards the Utorda Beach
that is well connected with the resort. Swaying trees and well manicured smile
at me as I walk down the path leading the beach. The soft wind caresses my hair
and I could hear the sensation of sea water rising up almost to welcome me.
It
was a beautiful sight watching the beach showing its true colors.  It was time to move back to the resort where
my family was waiting for me to move for lunch.
The restaurant had a wide array
of dishes served in the buffet, but I requested the chef to serve some Goan
fish curry and rice. The dish was impeccable indeed which reflected the chef’s diligence
and dedication.
After a hearty lunch, we move
towards the nearby local market for some shopping and return back exhausted. A warm
dinner was just what we needed and the hotel ensured we enjoyed our meal with
an exquisite Japanese and Indian delicacies.
We closed the day on a very happy
note and returned to our rooms. The bed was soft and comfortable and I slept
like a baby. The next morning, I got up pretty early and looked out of the
window to be greeted by a warm sunny morning and birds tweeting.

I enjoyed my
cup of green tea in the private balcony where the birds played a symphony
matching the backdrop.

I moved towards the Trance
Fitness gymnasium for a workout. The gym is well equipped with cardio-vascular,
strength, endurance building equipment and looked impeccable in maintenance
and hygiene.

After the perfect workout, I moved
towards the pool area which looks stunning. A swim in that pool is something I
shall always miss.  By the time my
fitness routine ended, I was famished. I joined my family at the restaurant,
who had already ordered a mix of Indian and continental dishes.
I ordered for
some eggs, waffles and coffee. The cream, honey and blueberry make the perfect match to the crisp waffles served to us. The one thing that I have to highlight is the effortless
smile and warmth that each server has on their faces. It seems delightful to be
served by them.
The Resort had planned a lovely
surprise for us and I cannot forget their amazing planning and execution. Their
cab took us to the Spice Plantation that is around 35 Kms from Panaji. We were
welcomed by the staff with a chandan
tilak
and flowers.
We were helped by the local guide
who took us to see how spices, coconuts, betel nuts and fruit grow. After one
hour tour of observing and understanding the trees and plants, we were ushered
to a large area where a Goan meal was being served on a banana leaf. It was
delectable and palatable.
We moved back towards the resort
and enjoyed some time near the beach side. The comfortable lounge chairs were just what we needed to relax and soak in the beautiful scenery.

The sun was setting and we enjoyed the sun melting inside the sea. After while, we moved towards the pool that looked beautiful
with lights on all sides which glittered and gleamed.

Fame – A Japanese Fare
It was evening and we decided to
take a tour of the resort that looked impeccable even with dim lights. I fell
in love with the ambiance and setting.
Dinner was planned by the chef at Fame –
A Japanese delicacy restaurant that has exotic flavors of Sushis, Dimsums and Pan
Asian dishes.
The pad Thai noodles, spring rolls and steam rice were well
prepared and tasted delicious. We ended the meal with some ice cream and moved towards
the rooms to call it a day.
Conclusion
I have to admit that Planet
Hollywood Goa is one of the most exclusive beach resorts in the world that offers
an unrivalled combination of luxury, environmentally friendly design and
unforgettable, authentic Goan experiences.
