Le Méridien New Delhi dedicates Christmas to the girl child

It was a lovely Christmas experience
@ Le Meridien Delhi this year.  To usher
in the spirit of Christmas, the creative community of Le Meridien New Delhi
decided to dedicate Christmas celebrations to the untapped potential of the
girl child.

Under the broad message of  ‘Encouraging the Girls’ the management of the
hotel crafted a unique Christmas Tree in the shape of two young girls helping
each other in the journey of life.   This
installation tree was inaugurated by Nina Vaskunlahti, Ambassador of
Finland to India.
To add to the strong message of
encouraging the girl child, Le Meridien New Delhi made a departure from
traditions of the past by introducing to public a never – seen before Santa
Claus, a Lady Santa, an embodiment of girl power and fervor of Christmas.

The
event also saw the graduation of 25 young girls from diverse backgrounds who
could not have otherwise ever avail the opportunity of an intense hotel
operations training and be ready to go out in the professional arena for a job.

Together with their partner NGO,
Joining Hands, the 25 young ladies have completed a hotel operations training
program which was flagged of by honorable Minister for Women and Child
Development, Mrs. Maneka Gandhi six months ago.
”This is an unmistakable message to society at large that given the
right opportunity and help, adverse circumstances cannot be an impediment to
the limitless potential that a girl in today’s India can reach. By providing training and
livelihood skills to girls from under privileged background, the hotel stands
firm in its commitment to harness the power of the girl child”, said Meena
Bhatia Vice President, Marketing & Operations.
A lovely showcase of the finest éclairs,
assortments, sugar delights along with hot coffee added to the sweet touch at
the event. To find out more about Le Méridien, please
