Caffe Tonino, CP – Elegant fine dining with live music

Caffe Tonino @ CP in spells magnificence
beyond compare. Located on the first floor of the Plaza Cinema Building in CP,  CaffeTonino lures diners with foot
tapping live music and a rustic ambiance. The Tuscan villa style cafe has a warm and hospitable staff who greet you
with a warm smile.

The restaurant manager welcomed us and escorted us to a table for two. The floors display Italy’s
artistic finesse, while the floral chairs give you comfort and relaxation.
There is ample space for cozy dining experience for couples or small gatherings.
Full length windows display the outdoor
activity of the inner circle of CP. The well placed tables, comfortable chairs
and soothing music create an elegant moment, with a hint of decadence. The restaurant is beautifully
designed to display architectural nuances as you gradually loosen up in the
cascading spell of the soothing music.
Tonino has surely succeeded in
keeping up with the spirit of Italian food. An assorted platter of fresh breads
with basil dip and a tall glass with olives were served to us – a succulent start indeed.
We started with
soups. While I devoured a hearty Zuppa di cavalo Romano soup that had a profuse
use of herbs delighting the taste buds, my daughter relished Con Pollo – a
Classic Italian Chicken soup that had the perfect blend of chicken in rich
cream.

A variety of bruschettas arrived before us leaving us in awe with appreciation
of presentation. The tomato basil was a tangy delight, while the pesto and
cheese accentuated our happiness level. The cream and mushroom bruschetta was a
fantastic combination of presentation and taste. We devoured them with basil
dip.
Before the antipasti, we enjoyed
a chilled glass of orange bloom with a tangy intonation and orange juice. The
mildly sweet drink cleansed the palate, and primed our taste buds for the main
course to follow.
Our first set of antipasti
consisted Risotto Con Pollo Formaggio e basil fresco – the highlight of the
review that stole my heart. Unlike other Risottos, the risotto with parmesan
had spicy stuffing that gives a creamy texture.
The next dish was Piedino Pollo –
A chicken dish that tantalized my taste buds.  For pasta buffs, the Ravioli di Pere e
Pecorino con has the right balance of herbs and sauces. It occurred to me that
pasta can be spicy, active and playful. The moist texture invited me to finish
the dish to the last bite.
We sealed the meal with dessert
coffee called After Nine – It is an unconventional take on the usual coffees
and tastes divine. Tonino is for those who love
Italian food and are well versed with the flavors. If you love Italian food,
with a dash of fine music and elegant setting, you must dine at Tonino.
