Fusion, Fashion, Glamour & Bling marked the Summery Fashion at IFFD’s Premia India Runway Week

The second
edition of Asia’s youngest fashion trade event by Indian Federation
For Fashion Development, ‘Premia India Runway Week’ (PIRW SE 2014) in
association with Shree Raj Mahal Jewelers was organized recently at
the Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi with grand finale at White Waters,
Connaught Place. 


The three day fashion extravaganza featured about 27
designers, who presented their summer collection with glamour, bling
and taste of bollywood on the ramp. 

IFFD’s
PIRW in association with SRM Jewellers main aim was to provide a
suitable platform to established and new designers as well.
While
first day had Florals, prints and interesting embroidery, the second
day featured more bling and dazzle with lot more jewellery and
glamorous show-stoppers on the ramp. The third aka grand finale day
was high on fusion fashion as theme with traditional saris and modern
gowns, designer shoes and Bollywood divas on the ramp as
show-stoppers.
With more
than dozen designers showcasing their collection, the fashion week
also witnessed presence of bollywood and television actors walking
the ramp along with Miss India and Princess of Gujarat. The
show-stoppers list included names like; Amanpreet Wahi (Rosy
Ahluwalia), Delnaz Irani (Pluss by Sandeep Aggarwal), Vanya Mishra
(Aashna & Vikrant), Amba Suhasini Jhala (Shivani Singh), Koyal
Rana (Smridhi Jewels), Sachin Khurana (Stylion by Manish Gupta),
Mugdha Godse (SRM Jewellers), Neeti Mohan (Varija Bajaj), Pooja
Mishra (Swati Modo) and Navdip Singh & Simer Motiani of movie
Khwaabb (grand finale by Rajdeep Ranawat).
Day 1
commenced with; Manish Gupta’s collection whose creative
embroideries and sophisticated designs compliment today’s modern
women whereas ornaments by Akaash K Aggarwal added opulence to all
the outfits. It was followed by designer Rosy Ahluwalia’s show. She
presented her vibrant collection with the spotlight firmly on colours
pink, blue, white and green. In gowns, salwar suits
and bridal lehengas,
Rosy used zardozi, swaroski and ariwork. Even the polka and gold
jewellery by Kavita Gogna added a very ethnic and unique look to the
collection. Designer Sandeep and Anju Chanana focused on the ancient
Indian Mughal Art.
The duo incorporated the art on fabrics such as
georgette, chiffon and crepe, where as Designer Ritu Chabbra
presented Indian wear collection dominated by pastel shades. The
concluding show of the day one was by Mumbai based designer Shruti
Sancheti. Influenced by South Indian traditions, Shruti presented a
collection of Indian and western wear of finely woven Temple weaves,
which is an integral part of the Dravidian culture. The borders
flaunted pastel shades on the woven silks, untreated calico cotton
and cotton silk.
Day 2
began with the show by Nishu Jain. His designs were inspired by
nature and huge manmade structures, where he used silk, polyester,
linen and cotton for her creations. His show was followed by Sandeep
Aggarwal. With his
brand PlusS, he focused on creating outfits for plus-sized people.
The collection comprised formal and casual wear in vibrant and
soothing colours. ‘The collection conveys the message that even
plus-sized women can add that “spice, zing and glamour to their
look, said the show-stopper Delnaz Irani, who walked the ramp for the
first time in Delhi”. Third collection of the show was
presented by designers Aashna & Vikrant. Their collection was
dominated by Blue colour. According to the duo, Blue is the
colour that has been associated with Lord Krishna and symbolizes
truth, peace, spirituality and strength. The collection made an
attempt to showcase blue as a colour that “makes its way through
the limelight”.
The fabrics used were georgette, lycra and net,
and jarkans added brightness to the range. Charas by designer duo
Sonia & Ankur concluded the first show of the day. The
designers worked on three-dimensional intricate embroideries, pastel
shades, melted gold prints and tailed gowns. Our news spring
collections aimed at dressing every woman in the most beautiful,
glamorous, extremely artistically and polished way, Sonia said.

The second
show of day 2 was presented by Niket and Jainee followed by Designer
Shivani Singh’s collection. Niket and Jainee showcased their
collection of bridal lehengas and
kaftan anarkalis. They concentrated on doriwork, pearls, beads and
crushed silk. Whereas Shivani Singh with her brand Democrat
Jeans presented a twist to the regular pair of denims. The theme for
the collection was ‘futuristic maharajas’, where Shivani created
denims with embellishments, inspired by the embroidered attire of
maharajas. Her collection was followed by the third show of the day,
where Sonia Jetleey presented her collection with Pankaj
Diamons, Smridhi
Jewels by Babita and Meenu and Stylion by Manish Gupta.

Designer
Sonia Jetleey’s collection drew inspiration from floral and peacock
motifs and fabrics. She showcased resort wear and skirts with digital
prints. After Sonia, Sanjay
and Babita presented their jewellery collection, comprised of polki
jewellery in 24-carat gold. These polki sets were the key attraction
of the show. Stylion by Manish
Gupta, the third collection of the show was inspired by the paintings
of Neerajj Mittra which depicts the horse and its elegance in a
beautiful way.
Day two
concluded with SRM Jewellers collection with actress Mugdha Godse
walking the ramp followed by beautiful show by Ramesh Dembla. SRM
Jeweller’s collection was aimed at the
upcoming wedding season, comprised of gold, diamond and polki
jewellery. The jewellery had precious stones like rubies and panna in
the yellow metal. One of the highlights of their bridal collection
was Jadau jewellery, which is quite a rage these days. An excited
Mugdha Godse said, after the stunt-full reality show, walking the
ramp is a great experience for me. Bangalore-based
designer Ramesh Dembla’s collection was titled ‘Soul
Shine’. The red and black outfits from the collection had silverwork.
The designer had used a lot of velvet, lace and net. The outfits for
men comprised jackets made of a combination of printed wool and
velvet.
The grand
finale of the three day event was shifted to a new venue in Connaught
Place but once it got started it went on smoothly and concluded in
grand way marking the successful end. The
grand finale had shows by designers Swati Modo, Faraz Manan (Pakistan
designer) with MBJ Jewellers, Varija Bajaj and Rajdeep Ranawat
(Finale Designer).
Day 3 aka
Grand Finale began on high with musical bonanza by bollywood singer
Neeti Mohan, who was also the show stopper for Varija Bajaj.
Her designs
consisted of floor length gowns, Anarkalis, dresses and saris. She’d
used lace in asymmetric hemlines and, and pallus to add a feminine
touch. The colour palette ranged from pinks and greens to classy
neutral shades. It was followed by Swati Modo’s collection, who
presented her collection on the theme of Women Empowerment. It was a
great show by Swati featuring footwear in all colours; maroon, gold,
silver and emerald green, the chains and whips carried by the models
during the show depict the strong woman. The second last collection
of the show was presented by Pakistani Designer Faraz Menon with MBJ
Jewllers. His collection was a fusion of traditional Pak prints and
modern cuts. He had experimented with hemlines of the gowns and the
dresses. The kaftans, gowns and dresses were in shades of beige and
peach, while the bridal outfits had embellished lehengas, saris and
suits.
Designer
Rajdeep Ranawat presented the Grand Finale of the second edition of
Premia India Runway Week 2014 by Indian Federation For Fashion
Development. Rajdeep’s
latest collection is inspired by the ornate european architecture and
jewels of the royalty which is all intertwined by elements of
nature. There is a mix of westerns, indo westerns and then
we end the collection in grandeur with the royal indian
sarees, outfits and lehengas teamed with the stunning kundan, polka
and diamond jewels of Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers. The grand
finale of the Youngest Fashion Trade show had young star-cast of an
upcoming movie ‘Khwaabb’, Navdip Singh & Simer Motiani as
show-stoppers, while the director of the movie Zaid Ali Khan was also
present there.
After the
walk, Simer Motiani said, “It was a great experience for me to
walk the ramp. Rajdeep’s designs are too good and I liked them all.”
“It’s
a great initiative by Indian Federation of Fashion Development to
organize Premia India Runway Week, they are providing the platform to
budding as well as established designers of tomorrow, which is
also like a ‘Khwaabb’ for them as it’s an opportunity where they
dream to become big tomorrow, Zaid Ali Khan added.”
Tarun
Shienh, CMD Premia Group said, “I am happy to see the team work and
energy that was showcased today to make this show a success. It was
not possible without the support of the entire team. But this has
given us a lesson that nothing is impossible in this word the only
thing required is to show trust in each other. We all have created
history today and have done something that no one in the past have
ever thought of. I congratulate the entire team for the success of
the show.”
The
organizers, Avinash Pathania and Kiran Kheva (Directors, IFFD) were
quite satisfied and pleased with the way things have gone and their
efforts ended with a successful conclusion. They said it has been a
great learning experience this year and the response we received is
great and overwhelming. We hope keeping the high spirits, we’ll come
back with a bigger and grand platform next time. Avinash Pathania,
thanked Tarun Shienh, Shree Raj Mahal Jewllers, Audi and all the
models & designers to make it a successful endeavour.
Overall it
was a perfect melange of fresh talent with experienced creativity at
the fashion week with big promise for years to come.
