Wine for that special glow

We all love wines, don’t we? Now you can even get a massage
done to get that radiant glow. The seeds, skin and leaves of the red grape
contain antocyanosides, polyphenols and procyanidols, which have been proven to
have more antioxidant value than vitamin E.

Wine also contains natural AHAs, as
well as antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agents and is said to aid in fighting
ageing by restoring collagen and elastic fibres. This helps in plumping out
wrinkles, boosting sagging skin and exfoliates dead cells.

Wine facial: After a thorough cleansing and steaming of your
face, a mixture of wine (usually superior aged ones), herbs, fruits and
essentials oils is applied to your skin and massaged in. The kind of wine
chosen depends on your skin type (milder rose for sensitive skin).
A wine wrap: A light full body massage with essential oils
is followed by a honeyed paste of wine, with fruits or chocolate used as
thickening agents. Next up is a relaxing steam/sauna for the goodness to seep
into your skin and then it’s off to the shower.
A wine scrub: This one is a seasonal scrub and not for the
sensitive-skinned. The leftover pulp of pips and crushed grape skin from
wine-making is used as a body scrub, with generous splashes of wine added for
more effect. Once the scrubbing is over, it’s time for some relaxation followed
by steam/sauna and then a shower.
A wine bath: Expensive (considering they pour wine in your
bath water) — it is pampering for the senses. Wine and essential oils are mixed
into your bath water and you are invited to have a long soak, accompanied, of
course, by a glass of the finest wine.
