Anchaviyo Resort Wada: An Immersive Nature Stay Near Mumbai

Anchaviyo Resort Wada: An Immersive Nature Stay Near Mumbai

Some places offer you a stay. Others take you into a completely different world. Anchaviyo Resort in Wada, Maharashtra, belongs to the latter.

I have travelled to serveral locations and experienced luxury at its finest, but what I felt at Anchaviyo was luxury interspersed with nature & a dash of hospitality.

Anchaviyo was a place that surprised me at every turn, making me forget the world outside — a beautiful blend of nature, imaginative architecture, unique accommodations, and experiences that make a stay memorable long after you’ve checked out.

Located in Wada, approximately three hours from Mumbai Airport, Anchaviyo felt like an intriguing getaway for anyone looking to step away from the city’s chaos and immerse themselves in a setting that feels refreshingly different.
From distinctive cottages and quirky spaces to peaceful waterside moments and outdoor adventures, this resort has plenty to discover.

After a long drive from Mumbai, the cab passed through a touch patch of muddy roads ; but once we entered the campus, it felt magical. The Bali inspired space of Anchaviyo seems different from the usual resorts ; offering experiences to guests with unconventional rooms and a natural setting in every corner. I felt alive as I walked past the landscape gardens admiring the natural setting. The first thing I experienced was the spa – in a cozy quiet space, the setting of the spa was the most inviting experiences. The gushing waterfall, tall bamboo trees, riverside setting felt perfect as surroundings. The relaxing massage of 90 minutes helped me to drift into a deep sleep that took away my tiredness after the long ride. It was absolutely worth the experience.

A Stay That Is Anything but Ordinary

One of the most exciting aspects of Anchaviyo is its unconventional approach to accommodation. Instead of the usual hotel room experience, the property offers spaces with individual character, each adding a little magic to the stay.
Beehive villa – My luxury private villa with a waterfall, slide & river views

I stayed in the Beehive cottage, an experience that felt intimate, cosy, and wonderfully connected to the surroundings. The resort’s distinctive design and thoughtfully created spaces make exploring the property an experience in itself. There is a private waterfall that feels refreshing ; here I was soaking in the experience as I am a complete water person. The spacious villa gives you the perect bali vibe – exquisite, luxurious and a lingering experience even after leaving. The staff had thoughtfully placed a wine bottle, some wxquisite desserts and a bowl of fresh fruits to welcome me warmly. The villa has two rooms, both facing the river and dense jungle.

Barrel Rooms – An exquisite stay with views of the river

The Barrel rooms are another fascinating feature, adding a playful architectural element to the resort. If you enjoy an unconventional stay experience, this one is worth a try.

Stone room – Mysterious and dreamy

I got a chance to check out the stone room which felt very dreamy. The uniqueness about this room is its rustic look embedded well with luxury. The washroom was yet a big surprise that had a massive space, a rain shower with a glass ceiling that looked absolutely fantastic.

A frame cottages – Perfect for the solo traveler

The A-frame cottages overlooking the pool and the property’s other distinctive accommodation options further add to its eclectic charm. These are small in size, yet are made keeping luxury & sustainability in mind.

A Little Bit of Adventure, A Little Bit of Magic

What makes Anchaviyo interesting is the variety of experiences available within the property. You can spend your day being active and adventurous or simply slow down and enjoy the surroundings. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there is kayaking, cycling, and off-roading to explore. The natural setting also makes it tempting to spend time wandering around, discovering different corners of the resort, and finding your own favourite spot.

The waterfall adds another element to the property’s nature-inspired appeal, while the swimming pool offers a place to unwind between activities.

What I loved the most was Astrophile — a unique astronomical theme setting that brings the magic of the night sky into the experience. For anyone who enjoys stargazing and the quiet beauty of being outdoors after sunset, it is a lovely reminder that sometimes the simplest moments are the most memorable.

From a Chai Tapri to Dining Beside the Water

One of my favourite things about exploring a resort is discovering those little details that give it personality, and Anchaviyo has several. The chai tapri brings a familiar, comforting touch to the experience. There is something special about pausing for a cup of chai with a bun maska or vada pav, especially when you are away from your usual routine.

The lakeside and streamside dining experiences offer another way to enjoy the natural surroundings. Whether it is the setting, the sound of flowing water, or simply the opportunity to sit back and enjoy a meal in a different environment, dining here becomes part of the overall getaway rather than just another activity on the itinerary. These little experiences add variety to the stay and give you more reasons to explore beyond your cottage.

A Resort That Welcomes Four-Legged Travellers

For pet parents, finding a getaway where their furry companions are considered is always a bonus. Anchaviyo also has dog-friendly facilities, including a kennel, making it a property worth exploring for travellers who prefer not to leave their pets behind. I would advice pet parents to confirm the current accommodation policy, applicable charges, and access rules before booking.

Unwind, Recharge, and Enjoy the Moment
With a spa, swimming pool, nature-inspired surroundings, and several ways to spend your time outdoors, Anchaviyo offers a mix of relaxation and recreation.
You could spend the day exploring its distinctive spaces, trying an activity, or enjoying the scenery. Alternatively, you could do very little — take a break, enjoy a cup of chai, and let the slower pace of a getaway do its work.
That, to me, is the beauty of discovering a property with varied experiences. You can make the stay as adventurous or as relaxed as you like.

Is Anchaviyo Resort Worth Exploring?

If you are looking for a weekend escape from Mumbai that feels different from a conventional hotel stay, Anchaviyo is a destination to put on your radar. Its distinctive accommodation concepts, outdoor activities, waterside dining, stargazing experience, and nature-inspired setting give it an identity of its own. It is particularly interesting for travellers who enjoy exploring unusual stays and discovering properties where the experience extends beyond the room.

Whether you are planning a couple’s getaway, a trip with friends, a family break, or a pet-friendly holiday, it is worth exploring the available accommodation and experiences to see what suits your travel style.

My Final Thoughts

Travel, for me, has always been about more than checking into a beautiful property. It is about discovering places that offer a different perspective, collecting little moments, and finding experiences that stay with you.
Anchaviyo Resort was a reminder that a getaway can be playful, unconventional, adventurous, and peaceful all at once.
From the distinctive Beehive cottage to the unusual Barrel rooms, from a simple chai break to dining beside the water, there is something satisfying about discovering the many sides of this property.

If you are searching for a getaway near Mumbai that invites you to step out of your everyday routine and experience something a little different, Anchaviyo Resort in Wada deserves a place on your travel list.
