Set across 40,000 square feet of curated sanctuary and enveloped by more than 540+ trees, The Curing Tree is woven into a tranquil paradise to elevate wellbeing. I attended the 4 day gut cleansing program and felt a huge difference in my energy level.
Introduction
Whether you’re joining a structured program or simply enjoying the stunning location for a relaxing holiday, the Curing Tree encourages you to slow down without ever making it feel like work. Alongside traditional therapies and experienced practitioners, the Curing Tree incorporates carefully selected health technologies that complement its holistic philosophy. The aroma of 540 trees that include eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender and geranium welcome guests as they arrive.
Consultation
I met with the senior doctor for a consultation. With more than 20 years of experience in Ayurvedic and Integrative Medicine, she provided an insightful introduction to the wellness philosophy and took the time to answer my queries on health issues. The consultation gave me the opportunity to better understand the 4 day gut healing program.
The consultation also reinforced something I’ve always appreciated about The Curing Tree. Rather than taking a regular approach, the focus remains on understanding each guest’s individual goals before recommending the most appropriate path for their healing journey.
Stress management, weight management and detoxification continue to be among the most popular reasons guests visit, but there is no pressure to follow a rigid schedule if that’s not what you’re looking for.
Warm WelcomeThe staff is so warm and welcoming that you would fall in love with their genuine hospitality & grace. The Health care practioners in white attire look angelic and are always there to help you at any time of the day.
An Ashram with 540 sacred treesThe Curing Tree is born out of the widespread Ashram space that has vedic trees with medicinal benefits spread all over. A huge banyan tree with shivling and Nandi on the foot of the tree is worth visiting. It is said the tree is auspicious and anyone who prays there with full devotion on full moon night gets their wishes granted.
Service & Hospitality
There is a quiet confidence to the service that makes guests feel genuinely cared for without ever feeling over-serviced. Wellness retreats can sometimes feel intimidating, particularly if it’s your first experience, but the Health care Professionals have a wonderful way of making everything feel approachable and relaxed.
Cozy spaces
The Curing Tree is spread across two floors – the first floor for women & the second floor for men. The setting on both floors is intricate, well designed and has a luxurious and yet calming effect. The space is complete with comfortable sofas, a shelf stacked with holy scriptures like the Bhagwat Gita. There is a dining area to enjoy herbal teas and smoothies and a recreation area with indoor games. A huge outdoor balcony with potted plants and a corner with a small water body with lotus adds to the peaceful vibe. With trees swaying all around the balcony, each morning felt lighter and so peaceful.
How the Wellness Programs Work
We had come for the 4 day gut cleansing retreat. The wellness journey begins with understanding the individual’s case history. Guests joining the signature programs meet the wellness expert who takes the time to discuss their health history, lifestyle and goals before recommending an appropriate combination of treatments, movement sessions and specialist consultations.
A full body check up with current reports is mandatory before the patients/guests are allotted to their rooms. Based on blood reports, BMI, BP & sugar level, the file of each patient is created that has a detailed itenary for 4 days, keeping their schedule occupied with sessions.
Accommodation
Accommodation at The Curing Tree has beautiful rooms with windows offering views of swaying trees. All are thoughtfully positioned throughout the space to maximize privacy while embracing the surrounding landscape. Each room is well equipped with room temperature water, equipment for oil pulling, beakers with salt. I appreciated the quality of the refurbishment, including facilities that aid in wellness.
A huge cupboard to stack my clothes for 4 days, a desk to help me write my daily journal and a window where I enjoyed my cup of hot water in the morning. Even though guests share the wider property, the smart positioning of each room gives each patient privacy. Tiled bathrooms, generous living spaces and balconies overlooking the swaying tree all contribute to an atmosphere that makes it easy to switch off.
Daily Activities & Experiences
Each day began with oil pulling and saline water rinse. This is followed by yoga and meditation – taught by a certified young yoga teacher, who helped us with all asanas and breathwork. We also did some fun zumba activity that elevated our spirits. One activity I always recommend is the meditative walk around the ashram, where you witness the divinity through temples at each corner. It offers a completely different perspective of the wellness retreat and is one of the best ways to appreciate just how remarkable the setting really is.
I also loved the sound healing session in the afternoon, where we were made to lie down and listen to the healing sounds of the bowls ; all vibraiting at a frequency that balanced the chakras and accentuated deep sleep. This was one of the best experiences that I came across, as it helped me to relax after months of sleepless nights.
Detox drinks & healing brews
We were given smoothies for breakfast, CTH ( probiotics), healing brews, detox drinks to replenish the gut and healing powders to cleanse the system. Most important was the GI Bind with three glasses of water that aid in removing toxin from the blood. It wasnt easy, but it definately helped in fliushing toxins. The third day was fasting with medicinal enema. The staff studies the remains of the elemenated waste to help in analysing the overall health issues. This helps in determining the final report for patients ; thereful helpful in handing the perfect antedote for their underlying problems.
Dedicated health care professionals are always there to give us herbal teas, juices and drinks on time without ant delay. It was magnificent knowing how much dedicated each of them were. They were available for us day & night. The days were filled with therapies for the mind, body & soul. They included therapeutic foot soaks, relaxing body massages, acupressure treatments, soothing facials that aided in the wellness odyssey.
Healthy Dining at The Curing Tree
Healthy dining is a part of the wellness program. Rather than focusing on restriction, the menus celebrate fresh, seasonal ingredients that leave you feeling nourished without ever feeling like you’re following a diet. The food is beautifully presented; portions are satisfying and there is enough variety that meals remain interesting even during a longer stay.
The approach to food feels balanced. You’re encouraged to eat well because the food is genuinely delicious. We indulged in some of the most scrumptious meals that included quinoa buddha bowls, vegetables with pumpkin relish, beet soup and desserts such as coconut date balls.
How is The Curing Tree different
If I had to summarize my experience at The Curing Tree, it would be creating an environment where wellbeing feels completely natural. Nothing about the experience feels forced. You’re not constantly reminded to meditate, count your steps or follow a strict schedule. Instead, the environment quietly encourages healthier choices. You walk more because there are so many medical trees. You sleep well because the environment is incredibly peaceful. You eat nourishing food because it’s genuinely enjoyable, and you naturally spend less time looking at your phone because there are so many better ways to spend your day.
