The Sunday Brunch at Tamra by the Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi

Brunch might be the best meal of the day that has all the things about breakfast, and a good excuse to drink alcohol before midday. Tamra gives you the choice of regular brunch accompanied by unlimited champagne. The Sunday Brunch here is simply one of the best ways to treat yourself,
family or friends to a relaxing weekend.

There are so many items to try that it is almost
impossible to sample all in a single brunch occasion.

As one of the premier hotels in the centre stage of Delhi, The Moet &
Chandon Champagne Brunch at Shangri-La’s – Eros Hotel, New Delhi has remained
somewhat of an insider secret for the brunch pack.

Held every Sunday from 12:30 to
3:30, the buffet offers a comprehensive brunch menu range from
authentic South East Asian cuisine like Japanese, Indian and European
fare displayed by its five interactive cooking theatres
through seafood and sushi. Oh, and did I mention
the bottomless Moet & Chandon Champagne that you can sip alongside?

I reviewed the brunch on a warm Sunday
afternoon. The moment me and my daughter  walked in, we couldn’t help but notice the
reverberating environment of Tamra. While expats were happily enjoying their
champagne, the families were seen devouring each dish with excitement and happiness.
A discerning
and well-heeled crowd of big families to couples could be seen enjoying themselves.

The exhaustive menu was vibrant enough
to make you fall in love with the place. We were ushered to the seats near the Asian
Oriental pavilion and ordered some margarita and fresh orange juice. The
starters included a delicious salad, laced with fruits and a perfect sea bass in
an exquisite chilli sauce.
I started with the Khao Suey soup
with exotic vegetables while my daughter preferred the clear soup. The former
one with a strong intonation of lemon grass is perfectly suitable for anyone
who loves the oriental cuisine. I devoured my soup and took a plate to start
the main course.

A wide variety of vegetables,
fried rice, fish, noodles, dimsums are displayed on the live counter. The Asian
Oriental cooking theatre offers exquisite flavorful dim sums. I sampled a delicious freshly-made fish whilst my daughter opted for the noodles topped
with vegetables in bean curd sauce.

The Indian section has a live Biryani Bar that has four
different types of Biryani served with a Mirch ka Salan, that also share space with spicy chaats and puchkas.

If you love sushis, you must
indulge in the Spicy Tuna Sushi and Ebi Tempura that make
up an impeccable Sushi platter.
You can also gain access to a wide variety
of international cheeses, with seductive aromas and textures for even the most
refined palates.

The Moroccan cuisine
includes the traditional brunch fare with some enticing couscous, zaalouk, aubergine
and tomato mixture, and taktouka. You will also encounter fresh Moroccan breads
like khübz, msemmen, and baghrir. Get set for some more drama with enticing
wood fired pizzas and chawarma (roasted meat in pita bread). T
amra offers up a healthy selection of
sushi and dim sum and other East Asian cuisine. If you love simple Indian food
like I do, you can fill your plate with vegetables made with less oil and
spices and relish them with stuffed paranthas and hot rotis from ‘The ‘Ghar ka khana’ section.

For the big finish, indulge yourself with the warm and
delicious ice-creams or a decadently sinful chocolate fountain that
will ensnare the senses. The desserts are a pleasing assortment of classic
brunch treats and some truly exotic specialties.
There is a chocolate
fountain that even provides macaroons on a stick for dipping!
