The Nest – Mesmerizing landscaping and scrumptious food

A beautiful evening became the
perfect reason to dine in an open air restaurant on a weekend in the month of
June. The Golf Course Qutub Road in Delhi is the perfect place to enjoy the scintillating
weather. We visited the Nest that is a perfect example of elegance beyond
compare.

The Nest has an ambiance that
ignites the zest for life. The parking outside the sprawling restaurant is not
a challenge at all. Since the restaurant opens up to a wide green belt, it also
gives ample space for guests to park their vehicles.
The entrance gives a homely feeling
that is both pleasant and warm. We were ushered to the Macau Nest, at the first
level that overlooks the serene landscaping of the golf course in the Qutab
road, Delhi. The fresco area introduces you to the swaying trees that are at
eye level. Chirping birds, playing squirrels are some of Nature’s ways of
saying Hello to you at the Nest!
The indoors are as charming as
the outdoors. The dimmed lighting, live music and vast space make it the
perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal with family and friends. The bar is very
functional and represents all spirit and wine categories with respectable
options with cocktails and wines.
We took our seats at the center
of the restaurant, where Chef Amit was preparing some delectable dishes for us. We were given the menu to look
over, which started with an overwhelming Chini martini Depth charge, Paloma and Sex on the Beach.  The fantastic presentation and taste of each of our drinks reflected the intense research and patience combined with creativity of the bar maestros.
Although the menu boasted of a good
selection and range to suit all taste buds and appetites, we preferred to be
served with delicacies by the chef who enchanted us with his warm smile and
pleasing personality.
He suggested the Salad- Chevre.
The beetroot with quinoa, Avocado, caramelized cheese, balsamic glaze, pecan
nuts, Malta enticed our appetite. The salads were very refreshing. The unusual
take on dressing accentuated the vegetables leaving our taste buds rejoiced!
The staff ensured we had enough
water for the table, that we were comfortable and even took the time to explain
each dish as they arrived; including the sides and way they are cooked. The Dimsums came in 4 assorted
baskets. The Crystal vegetables were succulent while the Bokchoy cashewnut
impressed us with the simplicity. The Spicy basil chicken sumai and Chicken
wonton won our hearts with the perfect conjugation of sweet and spice. We loved
them all.
After a while, the Sushi platter arrived.
The platter of sushis consisted of 6 pieces, including Rainbow Shitake, carrot,
cucumber, mayo that consisted of chicken tempura with garlic on the inside,
smoked wagyu on the outside and dressed with a delicious balsamic dressing. We loved
each one of them after dunking it in the chilli sauce and topping it with
ginger and wasabi to taste.
The appetizer included Aubergine &
manchego. The Baby aubergines, truffle salsa, kalamata olives, basil oil mixed
in this heavenly starter created a symphony of taste and fine presentation that
is impossible to express.
The next starter was a wrapped
asparagus. This dish is unlike any Japanese dish you ever tried. It is Chef Amit’s
attempt at a fine conjugation between the traditional and Westernized Japanese
food.
The next starter we sampled was
the Scallops with cauliflower puree. Pan seared scallops, haricot beans and
pepperonata comes out bursting with flavor.
The main course that followed was
the Morrocan vegetable tagine. Done to perfection, vegetables are flavorful
without being greasy. The Grilled salmon is something you would fall in love
with.

The salmon is tender and juicy and the sauce verge is the best pairing I
have ever tasted. We ended the meal with the  Burmese port khao suey. The sauce was rich with
flavour and the noodles came topped with the classic accompaniments.

Chef Amit truly embodied the
spirit of honesty and simplicity and it reflected in the food he carefully
served us at the Nest.
