The Navratra Thali @ Sattvik – Delectable and Pure

Navratras are very auspicious
days for the Indian family. The 9 days are drenched with complete devotion of
the 9 forms of the Goddess. Each day symbolizes the avatars of each Goddess while
keeping fasts to seek her blessings.

The fasting happens while
consuming food only one time in a day. We decided to try the Navratra Thali at Sattvik, located in the Select City Walk Mall, Saket.
A pure vegetarian restaurant
derived from sāttvika, the place refers to purity. Since it’s
inception in 2008, it is frequented by customers looking for a holistic
fine dining experience.
Sattvik has introduced a special Navratra Thali that embraces  the essence of Indian flavors and we were invited to review the food.

We were welcomed by a smiling and
hospitable staff that ushered us to a table. As I sat down, I observed the interiors
that were vocal with a medley of holistic living. Sanskrit slogans, soothing ghazals,
soft lightning adds up to the hospitable environment of the place that spelled peace and bliss.

Our server served us a huge
thali that gleamed with a scrumptious spread of pure traditional food. The starters included two delicacies- sabudana aloo ki tikki topped with pudine ki
chutney and jimikand ka kabab with mirch ki chutney. The kabab with the fiercely
tangy mirch chutney was the absolute winner.
The main course included paneer
makhani, chatpate sitaphal ki subzi, dahi aur pudine ke aloo, samak ke chawal
and kuttu aur singara ki puri. The paneer makhani was somehow subtle compared
to the dahi aur pudine ke aloo, which worked its magic with the empowering flavors
of mint.
The groovy chatpate sitaphal ki
subzi worked like a charm. Accompanied with kuttu puris, samak ke chawal, sweet
lassi, this spread works well with those wanting to revel in variety.
