Marasa Sarovar Tirupati – Luxury abode in the Temple City

There are some getaways that
become beautiful memories. My recent stay @ The Marasa Tirupati Sarovar usher
warmth in my heart and smile on my face as I pendown my article. Located at the heart of the
Tirupati city, The Marasa Tirupati Sarovar resembles a beautiful lotus
surrounded by water. That is the first impression I got when my cab hauled at
the drive in. The Hotel is full of light and life and fresh as the Lotus.

A warm welcome by the team of the
Hotel floored me instantly. Their signature fruit based welcome drink worked
like magic quenching my thirst from the long flight from Delhi.

While walking
towards my room, I couldn’t help notice the beautiful design and water bodies
that were oozing a soothing visual appeal.

Unsurpassed design –

The hotel has a fantastic base of
the Dasavataras of Lord Vishnu,
offering an amalgamation of divinity and mysticism.

The Marasa Tirupati Sarovar
has luxurious amenities including a fully equipped fitness gym and spa, two
dining options called – The Krishna and an all day dining café called the Lotus
Café. A beautiful swimming pool adjoining the spa adds sparkle to the hotel
during evenings.

Rooms with a view –

There are aesthetically designed
121 rooms and suites that have scintillating views of the hills and the poolside.
I was lucky to have the room with a hill view.

Each room has ultra modern
facilities that include tea coffee maker, table with ample light, large window that
usher in the sunlight, beautiful drapes to add the luxe factor, and extra
comfortable beds that ooze comfort and luxury.
I couldn’t wait to slip into the
bed for a snooze, but a welcome lunch was specially curated for me and I couldn’t
t miss that. I took a warm shower to get rid of the grime and pollution. The
spacious bathroom has all the luxury amenities that fall perfect for a
rejuvenating bathing experience.
Lunch @ Krishna –

Minutes later, I was escorted
towards Krishna – the vegetarian restaurant that is based on the concept of
Lord Krishna. The moment I step in, I fell in love with the décor. The blue
hues on the walls depict the color of Lord Krishna, while the flutes drawn on
the walls accessorize the place ardently.

The subtle lights seem perfect for a
nice hearty meal. The service exuded warmth at the restaurant. A big thali was
placed before me that had all the southern delicacies prepared by their master
chef.

The talent of the team of chefs
was very evident in the taste and presentation of each dish that is beautifully
curated by the head chef. I began with a cool glass of buttermilk that is
spiked with chillies and curry leaves.
The flavor of the buttermilk whisks you
to off to heaven in the first sip. The dishes in the thali were made with
coconut oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and spices that smelled heavenly and
tasted divine. After the satiated lunch, I was taken to the spa where a
rejuvenating treatment was waiting for me.

The spa – Relaxing and
Invigorating

The fruity essence fills up the
senses as I walk in the spa. The attendant helps me with the menu and asks me
to take a seat.
I am in a conflicting situation as I browse the spa menu that
has a wide variety of massages, wraps and scrubs. I settle for an Abhyangam
massage and a Hydrating facial.
The rooms are ardently decorated
that spell a fine taste in rejuvenating therapies. The hotel has ensured
maximum benefits be given to the guests while providing optimum relaxation. The
comfortable massage bed, steam room and shower reflect precision and attention
taken while preparing the room.
While I lied face down on the bed,
the therapist uses the oil to massage on the legs. The oil is very helpful to
re-texturize the skin, which is taken in generous amount and is gently applied
on the body.
Optimum pressure is applied on the heels that
were in most painful stages since the last few days. Thankfully, the therapist
was doing a fabulous job in applying the exact pressure on them.
She later
massaged the legs in circular motion and worked up the magic in just few
minutes. While her fingers were the masters of her talent, her warm hospitable
attitude made me comfortable and at ease.
The entire massage took about 60
minutes where each part was given the perfect time and pressure. I was already
relaxed and at ease. With the soft music playing, I was transported to another
world. She concludes the therapy with a facial followed by head massage.
The soft music playing in the backdrop only accentuated my facial
experience.  The facial massage helped in
increasing blood flow to revitalize the skin. She massaged my under eye area to
relax the nerve muscles.  My skin felt
smooth, hydrated and glowing.
A warm shower later, I am
transformed into a relaxed person glowing with radiance. The in-house herbal
drink offered to me rejuvenated me even further. The spa @  Marasa Tirupati Sarovar is a relaxing
destination that boasts space and a truly tranquil ambience.
The cheerful well
trained staff has a long-standing commitment to the hotel.  I came in with stress oozing from every part
of my body, but after indulging in the therapeutic treatment here,   I was transformed with a renewed sense of
well-being, that shall remain etched into my memory forever.
The sun had set by the time I
came out, and the pool illuminated with all its might in blue hues. It looked
bewitching. The General Manager welcomed me and asked about my experience. I
was out of words trying to explain how great I was feeling!
A light dinner was planned for me
before I headed back to my room. The Lotus café has a wide variety of dishes
from the Northern and Southern regions that are beautifully placed for the
diners. I started from some warm soups and preferred to try their lentils and a
spinach vegetable with some rotis. The dinner was light and I enjoyed every bit
of it.I retired back to the room and slept
like a log.
The next day I woke to the sound
of birds and a beautiful view of the hills right in front of me. The clouds
were bending to embrace the hills that were adorned with deers.
This happy sight elated me and I
looked forward to my day ahead. I stepped out and went towards the gym for some strength training exercises. I was glad that I could balance the weight with some exercises after splurging in fabulous food items at the hotel
I enjoyed the breakfast buffet at
the lotus café, near the water body. it was a beautiful sight watching the shimmering sun rays fall on the water as i enjoyed my South Indian breakfast comprising of dosas and idlis.

Sight-seeing in Tirupati

My excitement had no limits as I
was getting ready to visit the city with the Duty Manager, Ms. Arundhati.
Although new to the city, she loves to visit the temples. We started off at
the Kapila Theertham temple.
The temple also has a beautiful waterfall and a wildlife park to entertain
visitors. Several people visit the place and
worship with full devotion. Next we went to the Iskcon temple in the heart of
the city. The cleanliness of the temple is worth praising.
We stopped at the hotel for
lunch. Sri Laxmi, the Sales Officer from the hotel joined in my second phase of
sightseeing. Coming from Hyderabad, Sri Laxmi has immense knowledge about the
Tirumala and other temples in Tirupati.
Later, we moved towards the
Venkateshwara temple. Situated in
the hill town of Tirumala in Chittooru district, it is dedicated to
Lord Sri Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu, who is believed to have
appeared here to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga.
Hence the
place has also got the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntham and Lord here is referred to as
Kaliyuga Pratyaksha Daivam. The Tirumala Hills are part of Seshaachalam Hills range.

The drive
on the majestic hills is worth experiencing. The Hills comprises of seven peaks,
representing the seven heads of Aadi Sesha. I also visited other small temples
that were scintillating and peaceful. Each temple had a tradition of showering flowers
to the Lord and lighting a diya near the Lord asking for his blessings.
I also got to see the famous rock
park called Silathoranam, a natural stone arch that looked very enchanting. Made
by natural erosion, this rock formation hangs in the air with views of the
temple city.
A huge dam called Kalyani Dam is also a major sightseeing
dam that visitors will love. The cleanliness is worth commending.
While returning back, we also got
to see the Tirumala Deer Park Reserve – A Charming national park & animal
reserve known for its free-roaming deer & exotic birds.  It was an awesome feeling to feed the deers
with carrots.
By the time we returned back to the hotel, it got dark. I moved
towards my room for freshening up and proceeded towards the Lotus café for a
light dinner. I preferred to take some starters from the buffet along with some
soup. Sri Laxmi joined me for dinner next to the water body outdoor that
gleamed and shone so beautifully.

The sight was amazing and the dinner was
appealing. We enjoyed the food along with some light conversation. This was my
last night at the hotel and before I knew it the time to bid good bye with a
heavy heart came.

The next morning, after a quick breakfast, Sri Laxmi took me
to another sightseeing temple visit. The temples were located at an hour’s
drive from city, but the drive was worth it. we visited the Ramalingeshwara
temple –

The temple consists of a sanctum (garbhagriha), a vestibule (antarala)
and a hall (navaranga) with decorative pillars.  Beautiful, clean and intricate, this temple is
worth visiting if you are paying a visit to Tirupati.

My odyssey @ Tirupati ended on a
beautiful note and I don’t have words to express my gratitutude to the warm hospitality
of the team at the hotel who ensured my stay was comfortable. The General
Manger, Mr. De also assured my sightseeing was intact by providing a chauffer driven
cab for each destination.
