India on My Plate – A traditional Odyssey with ITC Fortune Excalibur

I have always admired ITC Fortune Excalibur’s ambiance and food. Every restaurant in the sprawling hotel encompasses
a fabulous odyssey of culinary finesse. Located on Sohna Road, Fortune
Hotel boasts of luxury elements that make dining experience worth remembering.

The latest menu of India’s regional
cuisines at “India On My Plate” introduced me to the cultural diversity of
Indian delicacies. A warm welcome by the staff of the restaurant made me more
excited to experience the dining odyssey at ITC Fortune Excalibur.

Beautifully decorated
with marigold and jasmine flowers, the entrance evoked an essence that was very alluring.

The spacious restaurant has
traditional elements of India in the form of paintings reflecting Indian
mythology. A display kitchen, a pool side view, a luxurious private dining and
a lavish open bar are some of the highlights of the restaurant.
From
traditional Tanjore art to modern impressions of the Kathakali dancers from
Kerala, India On My Plate serves as India On My Walls too. Brass vessels
hanging on the open kitchen window sil represent culinary expertise.
The Brand Master Chef created dishes and menus combining
Indian ingredients with local produce and Indian cooking techniques from ‘Uttar
Dakshin Purab Paschim’ with a modern design template which produces a
distinctive layering of flavor.
I experienced delectable gourmet
delights that flew me back to the historic times of India. A welcome drink in the form of Neer was the perfect drink to quench my thirst. Seasoned with curry leaves, the drink is soothing and satiating.

An array of Macchi
Tikka, Kakori Kebab, Bhutte Chess Eke Shamme, Khumbe Tikka were some of the most admirable starters I ever tasted. the soft and tender kababs reflected Northern Indian delicacies while the Chettinad Chicken was the perfect Southern delight.

The Dal -E -Frontier and Gosht Dum Biryani included the main course dishes. I closed the meal with some scrumptious desserts like Amritsari Badam Kheer, and gulab jamun.
India On My Plate brings a fine balance of vegetarian and
non vegetarian dishes that include succulent kebabs,
curries, rice, breads and desserts. You can devour the majestic fare while enjoying live entertainment by
renowned Sufi sensation, Nizam Khan.
