Golden Tulip Chandigarh Panchkula – A Luxury Getaway

It did not take me long to
convince my family to join me on a weekend luxury getaway to Panchkula , Chandigarh – The
beautiful and well planned city. We found ourselves in the car towards a luxury
resort tucked amidst nature called Golden Tulip.

Being such an impressive road,
we touched to 120 km/hour, enjoying music at full speed and relishing the crisp
morning air. A brief halt at a roadside dhaaba and we were off again towards
our destination.

We enter Panchkula- a quaint town
that is surrounded by trees. An uphill road takes us to Morni hills, where our
destination awaits us. We finally arrived and parked the car.
We noticed the
strong feeling of luxury when we walked in the front doors of the hotel. The concierge
greeted us in a friendly way and the staff took care of our luggage.

I was awe
struck to see the well decorated walls and an impressive crystal chandelier on
the ceiling. The vibes of the Golden Tulip hotel
is truly amazing, that included soothing music, ideal atmosphere and the right
amount of staff members. The General Manager welcomed us and ushered us to our
room.

The Room:

The door opened and I cannot say
which feeling was more magnificent: The wow effect of the vast room or the pool
side view that also had foliage of trees to feast our eyes onto. There was a closet,
two armchairs, a luxurious working desk, a king size bed and tea/coffee maker.
And of course there was a flat screen TV, which we barely used, considering the
fact that there was a better view from our balcony.

We moved forward to explore the
bathroom. A walk-in shower, toilet and luxury vanities made this bath seem
heavenly. The toiletries included sets of shampoo, shower gel, body lotion and
bath foam next to the shower that made this bath look ultra luxurious.
In general the room was flawless,
even the details were perfect: I had the right pillows, there were enough
towels per person, a good supply of drinks in the complimentary minibar.

The
room had the right temperature and perfectly comfortable seating area. After
freshening up, we moved to dine at the elegant restaurant on the second floor.

Patio Terrasse: Multi cuisine restaurant
The beautiful restaurant has
indoor and outdoor seating area overlooking the hills. A breakfast buffet,
a-la-carte menu comprising of a variety of aunthentic Indian and Oriental
cuisine makes this place truly magnificent.
Their menu was very selective
with famous dishes that included Indian, continental, Italian, Chinese and Thai.
We tried some of their special Indian dishes
that included lentils, biryani, curd, vegetables and rotis. After a  hearty meal, my family retired to the room to
relax for some time.  I moved towards the
hotel lobby and was escorted by the manager to view the entire property.
The Property:
The Hotel has a breathtaking landscape and a long
stretch of area to walk around. With 44 rooms under deluxe and suite categories,
the Golden Tulip Hotel seems to be the most luxurious property in Panchkula.
A business
center is well equipped for smooth functioning of office meetings from corporate
companies who usually book the hotel for two days program.
A fitness centre and
swimming pool are the highlights of the property as they exhibit finesse and
luxury. The Samayaa spa located on the third floor reflects tranquility and hygiene.
The Patio terrace is a multi cuisine restaurant that has both indoor and
outdoor seating. I moved towards the Samayaa Spa
for some serious indulgence and pampering.
The Samayaa Spa:

During the stay, I also had a
chance to try the signature massage at the Samayaa Spa. The spa is a small piece
of heaven that makes you forget the outside world and lets you indulge in some
amazing relaxing therapies.

The ambiance of the spa is very tranquil, with a
fruity aroma that lingers on to you the moment you step in. A smiling receptionist
welcomes me and hands me the menu to select the spa.

The manager advices me to
take up the Cucumber and Aloe Vera massage. According to him, the cooling properties
of this therapy are very effective. My therapist arrives and takes me to the room
that is tranquil and immediately gives a calming sensation to the mind. Her smiling
face and courteous attitude had already taken away stress from my body and
mind.

The subtle aroma whisked me to a
mystic land, while the soft gentle music brought me closer to peace and
happiness.  The floors,
light hued walls and the perfect temperature setting made the atmosphere more
welcoming.
The therapist, who has acquired
training in theruptic massages, was very well versed with pressure points. She
began the spa treatment starting from gentle pressure on the back muscle.

Later, every muscle of the body
is gently pressed while smothering the aloe Vera gel, removing tensed muscles.
The aroma of the gel and cream remain for a long time making me feel peaceful.
The massage lasts for an hour and the feeling is completely blissful leaving my
skin soft and supple.

She concludes the therapy with a head
massage. The soft music playing in the backdrop only accentuated my facial
experience.
The reflexologist, who hails from
North East is another talented therapist who is a master in disguise.  He presses the nerves of the feet in a manner
that is immediately relaxing and blissful. The pressure points on my sole and
calves make me feel relaxed. I had no words to thank the lovely staff who had
taken care of my relaxation during the therapy. The Jasmine tea offered to me
rejuvenated me even further.

The evening was a very special one.
There was an event happening in the outdoor area. A company from Chandigarh
hosted the event and employees could be seen having a great time dancing,
listening to music and dining.

The wind was cool and we were enjoying the live
performances on the stage from the restaurant itself. We preferred to keep
dinner light and took salads and fruits instead of a heavy meal.

The day ended
on a very satiating note and we moved towards our room for a good night’s
sleep. The beds are just too comfortable to get out of them.  The moment I slipped into the sheets, I slept
like a baby.

The Next day:

I woke up to the sound of birds
perched on my balcony. I had booked a cycle ride to enjoy the view while also
getting some exercise. The bright clouds welcomed me as I stepped outdoors. A guard escorted me to the nearby village. The weather
was crisp with cool winds ruffling my hair as I drove on the cycle.
I hadn’t cycled
for quite some time, but surprisingly I took off quite well. The nearby gurudwara
– Nada Sahib is the best place to worship. It is peaceful and has a brilliant
vibe. After some time, we took off and left for the resort.
It was getting hot
while cycling back. The journey became a bit tough, but I still enjoyed pedaling
my cycle. We reached the resort around 8.30. A warm shower was just what I
needed. After freshening up, I moved towards the restaurant with my family.
The breakfast buffet is huge –
both in terms of quality and quantity.
There are various corners, where the chefs prepare fresh eggs and dosas.
I preferred my South Indian meal comprising of some delicious idli, dosa and a
cup of tea to go with it.
After a hearty breakfast we moved
towards the pool to take a dip and enjoy the lush green surroundings. The pool
is well maintained and is quite enormous. Clean lockers in the ladies room are
provided.
We enjoyed the water while basking in the sun for quite some time. After
a refreshing dip in the pool, we moved towards the restaurant, where brunch was
being served.
We had some Chinese food that included soup, noodles, chopsuey,
fried rice and vegetables. The heartfelt lunch was indeed satiating. We bid the
staff and manager good bye and checked out of the hotel with some beautiful
memories.
