Dalal Street, CP – The stock market re-invented

Café Dalal Street (CDS) is a new trading bull in town in the restaurant business. This restaurant is based on the novel concept of stock exchanges. Brainchild of two enthusiastic youngsters from the financial background,  Himanshu Gupta and Vidit Gupta came up with a different vision of
giving Delhites not just a
regular bar but something which is quirky as a
concept and interesting to play

around. They were ably supported in this
endeavour by Mr. Gurcharan Singh and Mr. Prateek Kochar.

A concept that has already gained a lot of popularity in
Mumbai is surely going to enthrall the patrons in Delhi as well. It is based on
the modus operandi of any stock exchange, wherein the thrill of trading is
palpable albeit through cocktails and not shares.
True to its name CDS will
have screens all over the pub where one can see the prices of drinks going up
and down and then invest/order accordingly. FYI- sometimes the market crashes
too allowing you to sip single malts and the finest cocktails at throw away
prices. The owners of the place believe that CDS is an experience, something
which can only be felt & not described.
Cafe Dalal Street sprawls over a huge area of 5000 sq. feet
with a seating capacity of around 150 people and prime Central Delhi location,
the restaurant will feature an innovative multicuisine menu. The ambience is
truly a depiction of Dalat Street in Mumbai. The entire place has been divided
into sections with each area having its own vibe and definition.
We have a huge
bar with special seating on the bar and a separate PDR section has a rich yet
cosy feel to it. The space overall has a grungy vibe with a big Bull face
installation on the walls. The led tickers and TV screens all across make the
space very lively interactive and buzzy thereby enriching the experience of
being in a real stock market.
A spectacular terrace overlooking some of the
most prominent buildings of Connaught Place adds a zing to the entire place.
Especially with winters around the corner, the open air seating is one of the
best thing CDS has to offer.
How it works: Spirits start at a base price and are governed
by the laws of demand and supply. Based on frequency of order and the time
periods within which different customers place orders, the demand of a
particular spirit, wine or beer grows or declines and the prices go up or down. Once every day, the market crashes as well, so customers can
trade their favourite spirits and purchase at rock bottom prices. Trading then
begins all over again from this new set base price.
The menu is selectively curated by Head Chef Mr. Hemant
Singh, to represent the diversity in cuisines across the globe. The menu also
flaunts innovative beverages, with options in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic
categories. Infact some of the drinks like Purple, Cider, Eliminator have been
imported from UK which are rarely found in any of the bars in the city.
We have a fantastic bar menu which has one of the most
quirkiest named drinks like Bankrupt (JD silver select, Maraschino, Vermouth
rosso and Bombay), Bull Chaser (Vodka spice Beer, and, Passion), Invested (Gin,
berries and cardamom), The Wolf  Punch
(Apple Vinegar, Strawberry Vodka, Clove, and Orange), The Deal Closer(Tequila
orange nutmeg ice cubes celery salt), Zombie Street (Tequila spices juices
bitters).
There is a special cocktail menu for ladies which serves drinks like
KhattiMeeti (Vodka, AamPanna and Coconut), Homemade Khalua (Vodka Vanilla
Coffee and Spice), Chocolate Martini (Rum, Chocolate and Vanilla), Baby Biscuit
(Vodka Cookie, and Chocolate) along with some really killer shots like
Pornstar(Vodka Blue Curacao and Raspberry), Dalal Street Special Jagerbomb,
Kamikaze (Vodka, Triple sec and lime) and many more.
Taking a look at the food menu of CDS its patrons will find
a mix of delicacies running parallel on their palate. CDS offers you an
elaborate menu. To start with soups you will have varied options to chose from
Minestrone, Tamatar Dhaniya ka Shorba, Khao Suey along with the array of fresh
salads like Fatoush, Goat cheese salad, Thai sea food noodle salad with peanut
sauce.
The combination of veg and non-veg starters like Moulin port
,walnut and blue cheese spread with caper bread (Blue cheese and roasted walnut
spread, served with out in house caper bread), Milano Eggplant Caponata
Crostini (Inspired by the streets of Milan- eggplants ,tomatoes and basil
served on inhouse crust), Angels on horseback with remoulade (prawns wrapped
with bacon serve with remoulade), Edelweiss Baby Back Ribs (Beer Glazed with
garlic and rosemary) will transcend your taste buds to another level.

spices. Served with rice), Pan fried Tilapia fish with Calamri, Seafood

In regards to vegetarians Café Dalal Street has a variety of
lipsmacking dishes on the menu like – Parmizana di melanzane (classic northern
Italian that serves aubergines by layering them with Parmesan and tomatoes),
Grilled polenta cakes, brie, tomato fondue, charred spinach, Cottage cheese
steak. For the North Indians food lovers the menu has everything right from the
dishes like Chicken Malai Tikka to Butter Chicken to Maa Ki Daal which can be
savoured.
Far beyond this CDS also has a selection of Pastas, Pizzas,
Burgers, along with Bar Bites which includes some scrumptious dishes like Lamb
kebabs Marrakech style with Harrisa, Plantain and Banana Griddle Cakes with
fried pepper sauce, Puffed flat bread with potatoes, chickpeas, and mint broth,
Char grilled Saffron Chicken Skewers, Egg and Bacon Profitroles. To sweeten
your tastebuds a little you can try some really good Pineapple Cheesecake,
Caramel and Green Lime Flan or a Red Velvet Cake.
Running on an algorithm, the CDS will give you the sensation
and vibes of a live stock market, where the prices of drinks fluctuate in a
similar way as if you are trading the shares of different companies in a stock
exchange. In order to sustain in the trading business it’s important to keep the
track of prices.
Similarly to take this experience to a whole new level they
have introduced an app which can be downloaded from free wi-fi at the
restaurant and people can keep a track of the prices of their stock (aka
drinks) and order from the same.
Overall, CDS has brought the whole new exciting concept of
enjoying drinks at the bar without pinching your pockets.
