Chandni Chowk – Weaving stories of tradition

A

glance at the city’s most loved spot makes you feel mesmerized by its
sheen. As the name suggests, Chandni Chowk or moonlight square
magnetizes visitors with its aura and speaks largely about its
cultural grandeur and history. The reflection of moonlight in the
pool moves into a channel through the avenue.

Transitions
in the historical place of Delhi fail to surpass the charm of the
cultural heritage seeped inside the streets of Chandni Chowk. The
North

of Chandni Chowk that was once the Begum’s residence, has today
become Asia’s biggest electrical market Bhagirath palace in the
present.

Weaving
tales of the unfathomable past, Chandni Chowk evokes a mysterious
saga that lures the curious traveller. Ancient roads of the past that
were used for centuries

have now given way to modern structures.

While
its peaceful neighbor Red fort is frequented by tourists and
travelers, Chandni Chowk on the other hand, has a huge fan following
of designers, foodies, travel writers, traders and merchants.
Bustling roads filled with street hawkers vouch your attention as you
manage your way through the small lanes. Rich aromas of sinful
delicacies tease your appetite as you search the source. Such is the
magic of Chandni Chowk!

Conceptualized
by Jahaara, Shahjahan’s favorite daughter, Chandani Chowk refreshes
the Mughal era with its narrow lanes, tombs, heritage structures,
ethnic clothes and Indian Traditional food.

Apparel
is largely the reason for visiting the exciting streets of Chandni
Chowk. Sadar bazaar, famous for its embroideries and patterns is
mostly seen frequented by designers. Weddings and festivals are
another excuse to visit this enchanting bazaar.

The
only trade market, Chandni Chowk houses an equally amazing number of
places of worship of all prominent Indian religions like Hinduism,
Islam, Sikhism, Christianity and Jainism. A mystical feeling
envelopes you as you get to witness
Hindu
and Jain temples, Churches, Mosques and Gurudwaraas
.

Night
descends on the otherwise bustling street to give birth to yet
another face of the magnificence street called Chandni Chowk. The lit
up streets are decorated giving the perfect backdrop for a romantic
classic tale.
