An Oriental journey with Oriental Pavilion, Fortune Select Excalibur

Chinese food has always been my
favorite cuisine. The rich flavor and aroma tend to take you on an exciting
odyssey that is both pleasurable and memorable.

The Oriental Pavilion@ Fortune
Excalibur, Sohna Road, Gurgaon took us on a magical journey of culinary delight
with the Masterchef  InderDev. Located on
the 11th floor of the hotel, the restaurant has an aura of an authentic
Japanese restaurant with sensuous music playing in the background.

Me and four food bloggers were
invited to devour the chef’s choice menu. We sat at the far end, near the live
station where we could see artistic performances of talented chefs.

is vocal with freshly picked dishes.  We
started with warm Mizutaki soup. The soup is devoid of any cornflour and is
filled with vegetables. There were chicken and fish for the non vegetarian
lovers who added them to their soup. The
warm soup with vegetables is divine and  highly recommended!
For starters, we were offered dragon
chicken that was flavorsome and delicious. The crispy fish in kafir lime was
enticing with a dominant flavor of kafir lime. The spinach roll in Thai flavor was
efficient and tasted delicious. It was the Vietnamese vegetable roll that won my
heart. They are respectable, with thin skins and nicely browned exteriors.
We kept a small pause before
starting the main course. The main course comprised of Vegetable Thai Green
Curry, Burnt Garlic Oriental greens with sesame and pepper noodles. The
flavorful green curry is delicious, which add a brilliant flavor to a slightly
spicy, yet almost-sweet gravy screaming of lemon grass.
I adored the sesame and pepper noodles. The vegetables are done well with a spicy
intonation that is mixed well with the noodles. The shredded chicken In Black Pepper
was the perfect match with the dish.
To add a sweet note to the
review, the chef served us Tempura Fried Ice Cream. The sweetness is enticing
in the dessert that sealed the review on an enchanting note.
We thanked Chef Inder Dev for the
fabulous culinary odyssey and left on a satisfying note.
