Amreli @ Hotel Diplomat – An enticing meal

It was a beautiful evening when
we decided to enjoy a nice drive in the pristine surrounding  of Malcha Marg. To accentuate the outing,
there could be nothing more than devouring a meal soaking in the delicious air
that Delhi was blessed with that day.

Amreli in Hotel Diplomat is the
best choice to make if you love dining in the outdoors in the alfresco area,
surrounded by a lush green cover and perky seating. And if it’s the usual
Delhi’s hot weather, you can cool off indoors that highlights a sophisticated
seating with casual perches at the bar.
Adorned with beautiful paintings
on the wall and a chessboard floor, the restaurant is the perfect conjugation
of an up market London diner and a classic bistro. Conceptualized by Sidhant
Lamba, Amreli has a charming ambiance that makes you feel like coming again.
We sat indoors to also enjoy the cricket
screening that day. While my family enjoyed the match, I took a tour of the
restaurant. The classic flooring and mirrors enticed me to a level I could not
express. The breathtaking wall paintings allured with the rich hues and magnetic
theme.
I came back to be greeted with
the restaurant manager who suggested us few starters that were specialties of
Amreli. We began with a Hot n sour and Manchow soup. The flavors of ginger and
garlic were perfect while the vegetables were well done. We enjoyed both the
variants of soups.
We started with a flavorsome sesame and lemon oil salad. The
crunchiness of the vegetables goes well with the dressings that accentuate the mélange
of fresh and exotic veggies. It’s a must try for salad lovers. Next we had three
variants of dimsums – veg, chicken & mutton.
The tender covering matched
well with the well done fillings which were neither too crispy nor too soft. We
devoured them whole heartily. The Keema
and anda fry
is a delicacy that the chef recommended us to try.
The minced meat
and fried egg with a paov (bread) seems
the usual combination of a set meal that we usually have at home. It’s a perfect
answer to a hungry stomach. Next we had the Jalapeno cheese naan, which is an
unusual take on the regular Indian bread called naan.
The jalapeno and cheese spread all over suits the palette
very well. The Chicken skewers are delicious with their fine taste and
juiciness.
We sealed the meal with Death by chocolate that was an absolutely
perfect ending.
