Amaya Kuda Rah - A luxury beachfront resort in Maldives

How to reach there

We flew by Maldivian Airlines nonstop for almost 4 hours. A TMA (Trans Maldives Airlines) flew us from the airport to the tranquil waters. The sight from the aircraft is beautiful as you can see beautiful islands and turquoise water everywhere. On arrival at the Island, a ferry takes us to our destination – Amaya Kuda Rah.

After almost half an hour, we reach our destination. A warm welcome by the General Manager, Mr. Singh and Aditya from Marketing and sales refreshes us and we are already enchanted with the beauty of the Island.

The reception

The reception has a strikingly modern light-filled open space that blurs the boundaries between exterior and interior. Contemporary glass walls, huge glass doors define the area. Uniformed staff greeted us and invites us to take a seat.

The verdant landscape is crisscrossed by coconut trees and punctuated with ochre and honey-colored reception area. It is a real delight! The enormous infinity swimming pool offers breathtaking views of the sky. There are thousands of trees spread across the resort. Hammocks and swings are placed in each corner for those who love lazing and gazing at the trees and sky. The hotel is also famous for its lavish spa, which provides pure pampering and a first class range of therapies to unwind.

The resort stretches along the tranquil and picturesque Indian Ocean where guests are provided with uninterrupted views from their rooms. Inside the resort there are calming, nature-inspired rooms with a pool and a sit out area facing the beach.

Rooms and villas

The hotel boasts 50 stunning rooms and suites with facilities that are extremely impressive.

The stunning beachfront resort comes complete with a number of luxury pavilions and pristine private pool villas that have surreal views. Kuda Rah has long had a reputation of being one of the most romantic islands in Maldives where guests are treated to privacy as well as a first rate service.

Each of the 51 guest rooms face out onto the ocean and are decorated in cream and beige. Water lovers can wallow in the pool villa, while the beach villa provides the perfect place to soak in the tranquil waters of the beach.

Facilities include large wardrobes with iron boards, bath robes, and plush comfortable beds with soft pillows, desk and chair, sliding doors to welcome light and fresh air into the room. A huge washroom with pool, open rain shower, Jacuzzi, and 2 basins with bathroom amenities. The luxury toileteries give an ultimate luxurious bathing expedience.

Each room has been designed so that it faces the ocean and boasts large picture windows to let in plenty of air and light. The Beachfront villas are especially grand, while those who are travelling in a group and want to take advantage of extra space and luxurious touches should reserve the magnificent beach villa suite; with a living room and two rooms on the top.

The resort gives guests full use of private white sandy beaches, which are lapped by cool and clear turquoise waters. Wandering along palm fringed paths to reach the spacious villas is an enchanting experience, while every moment spent here uplifts the sense.

Sitting in my beach villa sipping hot tea, shortly after my arrival, I realized that Amaya Kuda Rah was special.

Ocean Spray – Multi-cuisine restaurant

The restaurant has panoramic views of the vast ocean and the deep blue sky. Quite perfect to its name, this ocean facing restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine under the direction of their executive chef who places the spotlight on local, seasonal ingredients. Ocean Spray is the gastronomic soul of the resort, with its contemporary simplicity. This is where we enjoyed breakfast each morning, with a choice of small plates freshly prepared in the buffet area, complemented by a la carte hot dishes.

Our dinner was evocative with dishes like salon, tuna, and mutton. The presentation and service was contemporary and refined. There are also movie nights on Sundays where guests can enjoy a nice open air theater while gorging on snacks like pizza and popcorn paired with wine or cocktails.

Excursions and activities

Amaya Kuda Rah has some of the most enticing activities to please the guests. From water activities like snorkeling and scuba diving to exciting excursions, everything at Amaya Kuda Rah is worth experiencing.

The cycle here is specially ordered to cycle on the sandy path. It is an experience you shouldn’t miss.

We were treated to a special trip organized by the dedicated staff which included Island hopping. This helped us to get acquainted with the village life of the locals and also experience the pristine beaches.

Bar

There are karaoke nights and musical evenings that make the evenings fun and interactive. The bar is where all the action takes place with well lit spaces and furniture in blue reflecting the crystal blue shades of the ocean. The blue theme only enhancing the entire experience with innovative cocktails to pair with. Their barman Akbar is as lively and joyful as the décor.

Pool Deck

The pool deck is the perfect place to watch the sun setting. The orange color mingling well with yellow transcends the sky and creates a beautiful illusion that looks alluring. It is always a delight to listen to soft music playing in the background as you dwell at the sky enjoying the splash of colors.

Spa & Fitness center

There is a state of the art fitness centre that offers an impressive range of equipments to tone and sculpt. There is also a resident doctor and therapists who help guests on their journey to wellness. The Mandara spa brand is synonymous with healing therapies that rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. The wide open space exudes charm and finesse with soft tones on the walls and ceiling. The soothing aroma evokes tranquility once you set foot in the spa. Smiling attendants help in easing the stress away.

Their signature Balinese massage is worth indulging in. rooms are equipped with steam, sauna and open shower. Getting a massage done while listening to the soothing sounds of birds helps in further healing and relaxation.

The resort exudes an extraordinary charm to guests. Our experience at this stunning property was very endearing. We took back memories of splendor and hospitality ushered by the team.
