Succulent Biryanis and more @ Smoked Biryani

There are birynai corners mushrooming

in every corner of the city, but very rarely do you come across a place that
gives you the perfect taste and flavor.Smoked Biryani falls in the category
of the most authentic flavors of Hyderabad. A very recently opened restaurant
for biryani lovers, Smoked Biryani has the most amazing biryanis and main
course dishes to please the palate.

Located in Sector 18 Noida, the restaurant
has two floors with ample seating and decent furniture. The floors are simple
with photographs of the nawabs of Hyderabad posing with their families.There is enough lightning to
brighten the place in the morning and evening. Families and food lovers usually
frequent it. Smoked Biryani offers mouth-watering dishes that seem flown
straight from the kitchens of Hyderabad. Made with absolute perfection,each dish
takes you to the city of Nawaabs.

We visited the place on a late
Sunday evening to find the place absolutely to ourselves. The wait staff
welcomed us warmly and offered a seat next to the window that gave an excellent view
of the bustling main market of Noida.

Going through the menu, we
preferred to start with a combination of Veg and non-Veg starters. We started
with the chicken chilly – a spicy and tangy taste of chicken cooked with red chilies.
It was a brilliant start and we looked forward to the other starters. Next in
the list were the crispy vegetables, which was not exactly what I expected. The
vegetables glistened with oil and resembled pakodas. Suggest you should not try
those.

The chilly fish however impressed us so much that I forgot about the
veggies. The fish, deep-fried was served with a delightful assortment
of onions and capsicums that tasted divine.

We moved on to the main course.
The fish curry is made with Raavas fish, prepared with curry leaves and spices was just perfectly made. Fish lovers should not miss this
one!
If you love chicken, go for the
Dum chicken. It is spicy enough to wash it down with a drink and tangy enough
to please the taste buds. The paneer butter masala is not the usual Punjabi style
paneer. It is made in Hyderabad style with curry leaves and chillies.
The next stop was the most awaited
of all – The Biryanis. Smoked Biryani is famous for the smokey flavor in their
biryanis. We preferred to try all three, Mutton, Chicken and Fish.

As the lid opens up, we could
smell a piece of heaven going inside. The aroma must be seeped inside
first before trying their signature dish. All the three biryanis were cooked with
cardamoms, nuts, curry leaves and cinnamon that spelled the perfect amalgamation
of North and South. It was served with mirch ka saalan, a hyderabadi delight and raita.

We were satiated to the brim. However, all good things must
end. To sign off the entire meal, we devoured the special desserts of Smoked
Biryani. The shahi tukda, and Kaddu ki kheer giving the feeling of the Royal Nizams. The former was made with bread, fried in ghee and dipped in sugar syrup,
served with vermicelli, dry fruits and cherries. The latter was an extra sweet
dessert made with kaddu or lauki, simmered in hot milk.

Smoked Biryani serves excellent
food in a hospitable environment. If you love biryanis, do not miss trying this
place.
