The cake mixing event @Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi

The cake-mixing parties at hotels
is catching up religiously to mark the beginning of warmth and cheer of
Christmas. The traditional family get together for the cake mixing ceremony takes
a step forward with hotels stepping forward and making the ceremony alive.

Taj has always been active in
such participations that involved patrons and in-house guests to participate in
the celebration and to continue the tradional ceremony of inviting guests and
media to welcome the festive spirit, Travreviews was invited to join the fun!

Taj celebrated the true flavor of the cake
mixing ceremony on 6th November at the Taj Mansingh.The chef of the hotel and other
members of the staff participated and contributed towards the large mixture.
Chef shish Uggal describes the traditional process of mixing the ingredients
along with different spirits.
The chef says “The fruits are soaked for
about a month, after which they are used to make the traditional plum cake and
Christmas pudding. The mix has a variety of dry fruits like almond flakes,
glazed red cherries, walnuts and pistachio nuts, dates, black and white
raisins, ground cinnamon, cardamom and cloves that are soaked in dark rum,
brandy or wine. Like every year, we start with cake mixing a month in advance. The
fun-filled activity include kids and adults who mix the ingredients.”

The guests enjoyed the mixing
ceremony while the fragrance of different spirits continues to linger on. It was
a brilliant start to festivities as each one present at the celebration got
immensely involved.
