two.

The large windows, square tables,
comfortable chairs and soothing music create an elegant moment, with a hint of
decadence that makes you forget the world outside.
Spago presents a modern take on
regionally inspired Italian cuisine featuring a fine collection of Italian gems
that is served with a sophisticated service. Italians love the simplicity of
their staple food and Spago has surely succeeded in keeping up with the spirit
of Italian food.
An assorted platter of fresh breads with a garlic dip was served before  – a succulent start indeed. We started with soups. While I
devoured a hearty Minestrone Di Verdue soup that had a profuse use of herbs
delighting the taste buds, my partner relished Pollo – a Classic Italian
Chicken soup that had the perfect blend of chicken dumplings in rich cream.
The Asparagi Alla Grigla salad recommended
by the manager comprised of grilled asparagus with balsamic dressing, basil
olive oil and a shaving  of parmessan
cheese. The salad is definitely a good spin on the conventional rubbed salads, that
was hard to identify but succulent to eat.
We also loved the Pollo Tiepido that
comprised of warm chunks of grilled chicken in fennel and olive oil. The salad
was gone in a few seconds and satiated us to a level impossible to express.
Before the antispati, we enjoyed
a chilled glass of ginger ale in Lemon Cardamom with a tangy intonation and a fresh
pomegranate juice. The mildly sweet drinks cleansed the palate, and primed our
taste buds for the main course to follow.
Our first set of antipasti
consisted Pollo Sanora – the highlight of the review that stole my heart. Unlike
other Risottos, the assorted vegetable and wine risotto with parmesan, had
spicy stuffing that gives a creamy texture.
There is always a fine line
between careful arrangement of small bites and an overwhelming smorgasbord.
Keeping this in mind, we ordered the last main course dish – Fettuccini Al
Salmon. The platter had Penne pasta in arabiata sauce.
For seafood buffs, the pasta with
salmon prawn has the right balance of herbs and sauces. It occurred to me that
pasta can be spicy, active and playful. The dish showcased innovative
flavors and textures, but simmered down in comparison with Pollo Sanora that
had has a moist texture inviting me to finish the dish to the last bite.
Spago @ Kasbah is for those who
love Italian food and who are well versed with the flavors. Be a part of this authentic
odyssey for an unforgettable experience!
