Rajasthan Food Fiesta @ Courtyard by Mariott Gurugram

When it comes to a food festival
promotion, no other hotel can pull it off well than Courtyard By Mariott Gurugam.
Located in the heart of the millennium city, this luxury property sits pretty
with its well established dining areas that are well maintained by the diligent
workers and managers.

The hotel invited us to review their
Rajasthan Food festival. We picked a Sunday to review it and was glad with the
choice.
As I entered the hotel, my eyes
were struck to the beautiful adorned restaurant that was representing the
beauty of Rajasthan. Colorful dupattas hanging, motifs placed in each corner,
hanging decorative, stalls with chaats and chaach whisked me off to the pink
city.
I was elated by the warm welcome by the staffs who were dressed in
typical Rajasthan attire. The color matched well with their lovely smiles that
made us feel comfortable and at ease.
We were ushered to the table where the
manager welcomed us and explained us the concept of the festival. The chef came
and took us around to help us get acquainted with the cuisines. Every corner
was beautifully adorned. The energy was vibrant at each corner. Folk music
playing in the background culminated a festive sensation everywhere.

Maharaj Barik from JW Marriott,
Pune and Maharaj Bhik Singh From MHRS, Jaipur were behind the traditional menu.

We took our seats and were served
buttermilk to begin with. The servers brought before us a beautiful thaali of
starters along with some dahi papri and bhel puri. The flavorsome dishes were
perfect to begin with. We also took a round to see some other cuisines.

At one
corner, a spread of my favorite hummus, pita, salads, breads was laid. We helped ourselves
with some varities and moved towards the table. Later, the server served a huge
thaali with different varieties of starters like Mirchi vada, pyaaz ki kachori,
gangri ke kebab, maas ka bootha, lehsooni murgh
. The dips served with them
included mint, peanut and garlic that made a great combination.
We preferred to take a break before
the main course enjoyed the beautiful ambiance around. A while later, the server served a thaali
for main course. The dishes included were aloo mangodi, govind curry, ker sangri,
paneer hara pyaaz, dal jodhpuri, kheera mirch ki subzi, daal panchmel, baati
and churma.
Out of all, I loved the baati churma. I found the vegetables to bit
spicy, but still enjoyed their authentic taste. The sharp and spicy odyssey of
the dishes became balanced with the desserts.
The balushai, besan halwa and
ghevar sealed the review on a sweet note and left us feeling filled to the brim
but satisfied. The warm traditional service by the staff was something I loved
the most at the hotel.
