Public Affair – Succulent Dishes served with Style

For the love of great food and wine – That’s what defines the very prominent Public Affair in Khan market. Tucked amidst a vibrant ambiance, this place has garnered attention owing to the fabulous décor and lip smacking delicacies. I visited this place and fell in love with each element of the fabulous place.

First impressions

A flight of stairs takes you to gastronomical paradise that has an environment filled with a delicious aroma. What you can find interesting here are the captivating slogans hung on each wall that attract your attention the moment you step in.  Playful colors and subtle lights add to the warm vibe while the smiling attendants help you in making yourself more comfortable.

We were greeted by a smiling attendant who ushered us to a table near the window. I loved how the sunshine danced inside the wide windows.  The seating here is extremely comfortable so it won’t be surprising that you could simply soak inside the plush sofas.  The bar area is quite spacious, so drinking here becomes quite enjoyable.  The talented bartenders are the real artisans who create exotic mocktails and cocktails to quench your thirst. I tried their watermelon with mint, while my daughter enjoyed a chilled vodka based cocktail served in a beautiful glass.

After settling down we ordered for the menu cards. The menu here is exhaustive, so we preferred to take the suggestions of the chef.

The head chef and owner is Augusto who also runs the Townhall Restaurant in Khan Market and Gurgaon. His fondness and ardent dedication in serving his guests can be witnessed in his dishes.

 Food Review

We were famished and carried an enormous appetite to relish the cuisine. The chef did a great job in presenting the finest before us.

For starters he offered us Tanuki Salmon, fresh Scottish salmon with jalapenos and tempura flakes. The best part about this sushi is that it is perfect in the exterior and interior.

I had to try their salads, so asked the chef to prepare some quinoa salad. The baby spinach, goat cheese, edamame and mango work as a charm in this salad and make quinoa the star of the show. We were waiting for the starters to appear. Our heartbeats became faster as we were served a beautifully decorated bowl of crunchy shitake with tangy chili marinade and rice crackers. An extremely playful dish, this one pleased my heart instantly. The chili is spicy but not harsh on the palette.  The Chorizo, a dish made with sautéed kale, pesto and mozzarella complete the definition of health and taste.

I also loved the grilled chicken meat balls, made with sun dried tomato and coriander pistou – a runner up in the entire show. The dish that won hands down was the salmon and snapper served with asparagus and zucchini, chili garlic sauce.

We were stuffed to the brim but had room for desserts. A strawberry cheese cake marked the end to the entire food review. Soft cream cheese with a hint of strawberry melts in the mouth the moment you take in the first bite. We loved the food, but adored the warm hospitality that simply raised our level of satisfaction.
