More than a Corporate Boutique Hotel – Hilton Garden Inn Gurgaon Baani Square

An unexpected downpour always
tends to hamper spirits especially on a
weekend. I had the coming weekend blocked for an experiential review at the
Hilton Garden Inn, Gurgaon Baani Square. I looked forward to my experience while
being stuck in a massive traffic jam on the Gurgaon Sohna road.

I struggled to get my car off the bad road
and reach my destination as early as possible. A few moments later, I
finally gave in to the merciless traffic and start searching the hotel. To my
surprise, I was only a few minutes away from it. I somehow braved the traffic and cut myslf in
the approaching traffic on both sides to reach the hotel. Although the hotel is
neatly placed near the Good earth City Center, it becomes a little difficult to
come from the Sohna road. It is therefore advisable to come from the Golf
course road as it falls right after the Good Earth City Center.

I finally reach the hotel and
felt a relief looking at the smiling staff who welcomed me with folded hands. My family who later join in are welcomed with the same hospitality. I was greeted by Mr. Rajat Malhotra, the Manager Corporate Communications who
welcomed me with a warm smile and a cool temperament that helped me to wipe
away my tensed facial expressions. My first impression of Hilton
Garden Inn, Gurgaon Baani Square attention to detail was an excellent one, and
the tone was certainly set for the rest of my much anticipated weekend stay.
Cafe’ O Lait – Cofees and more
The tranquil boutique property is
easily accessible by corporate and families. We could see lot of young families
who were enjoying a weekend getaway. The Hilton Garden Inn looked fresh
with its prominent styling sporting the playful vibe in the lobby area. The hip
furniture in the hotel makes you feel at ease when you walk in. Expect a color
palette of brown, red and pops of cream as you walk towards the Patisserie –
Café O Lait which is just perfect for late afternoon pick-me-ups after a
shopping expedition or simply to close a business deal. The magnetic aroma of
the renowned Illi coffee seems divine and I am almost lost in the magnificence.
Wide lobby exhibiting art and tradition with sophistication
A whimsical artistic delight can be witnessed in
the sculptures and paintings across the hotel lobby. Design elements throughout
the property reveal the classic lobby with olive-green accents, while
traditional art pieces give the hotel a distinctive touch.

A few steps away is the the all-day dining
restaurant, The Glass House that offers eclectic furnishings with a modern menu that
speaks languages from different countries. The restaurant has an expansive cover area boasting of traditional Indian and Western cuisine with a Mediterranean twist, whilst
focusing on local and seasonal ingredients. The dining area has magnificent
views from each table overlooking the vast open outdoors.
The Glass House – Fresh aromatic food savoured with families
The first
class buffet menu invited me to satiate my hunger after a long tiring day. We opted to start with the warm soups served on the
counters with fresh breads prepared in-house. I picked up my plate and
decorated it with a selection of delicious mini dishes such as yogurt, salads in olive oil, and other few appetizers.

For my main course, I had traditional Indian dishes like lentils, chickpea, served with missi tori. I
also tried the fish that melted in my mouth in the very first bite. The Indian
breads complemented the dishes which were rich in flavor, cooked to perfection
and delightfully presented, while the Chinese platters presented by the diligent chef of the hotel revealed the touch of sophistication blended well with perfection.
For dessert, I could not keep my
hands way from the dark chocolate cake that was accompanied with warm chocolate
sauce. The intonation held together quite well till the end. It was a real scrumptious
treat to my palette that I thoroughly enjoyed. The service offered by the staff
to me and my family throughout dinner was equally impressive, and of a very
high standard, which made my dining experience so special.
Our King’s Room – Luxury Uninterrupted
We moved on to our room that was
on the fifth floor. The lift offers privacy and security as it can only be
accessible to the occupants. We fumbled initially to get access to the floor,
but managed after some time.
The lift opened to the fifth
floor. The carpeted flooring and rustic wall paint greeted us as we walked
towards our room. The room looked elegant with all modern amenities for a
comfortable stay. But what captivated me most was an ergonomic chair that
immediately takes the shape of the back as you sit, without straining it.
I was delighted to discover that
the Wi-Fi was not only available in our room but through-out the hotel,
enabling total connectivity for business and leisure guests. From the large window of my room,
I could see the city lights and the slow moving traffic of Gurgaon – a truly spectacular
feeling to look and not be in it. I had the most pleasant sleep
that night owing to the soft mattress and soft bed sheets. I was pampered with
the crisp white sheets, warm blanket and soft
pillows.
The outdoors of The Glass House – Best place for breakfast
It was nine in the morning and
the alarm failed to wake me up. I felt low to have missed the Independence day
parade that was a part of the celebration at the hotel. I managed to get ready
and move towards the restaurant for an appetizing warm breakfast. The aromas of
fresh made breads, waffles, dosas, omlettes ignited my appetite and I was
already salivating.
While I picked up some breads and
ordered masala omlette for myself, my husband chose to try the South Indian delicacies while my daughter stuck with the piping hot aaloo puri. The omlettes, fresh and fluffy
were vocal with their ingredients and the waffles went well with the honey. I
loved them and devoured each bite with warm masala chai. After the delightful breakfast,
we were taken for a property round.

Wide space for Corporate meetings

The hotel is primarily focused to
meet business travelers’ needs. Frequent visitors at the hotel are usually
corporate managers who enjoy the complimentary 24/7 Business Center that has free
wifi, desktops, audio/visual equipment, full service catering and board rooms
that are apt for meetings and conferences. The wide spacious areas are also perfect
for weddings and parties.

The gym located on the 8th
floor has all the latrst machines for a good workout. So while I enjoyed running on the treadmill with
earphones connecting me to soulful music, I could see a wide view of the
millennium city covered under a grey cloud.  It was a pristine sight. The
weather forecast had showers listed and the prediction was absolutely true. I
accompanied my daughter to the pool to cool down and enjoy a nice dip under the
rain. The pool on the 9th floor is not very big but you can enjoy a
nice dip while looking up at the sky.
The pool with a breathtaking view of the sky

Floating on my back and looking up at the
blue sky was the most memorable moment at the hotel. A few laps in the room
freshened us up. The connected changing rooms are well
equipped with the latest amenities. A quick shower later, we retired to our
room to get ready for lunch.

We were welcomed again at The Glass House with the
same affectionate smile and took our seats. I looked around and observed
different groups of guests joyously celebrating Independence day. The vibes were
positive as people were seen laughing and enjoying themselves.
The swim had paved way for an
enormous appetite. I was looking forward to enjoy the wide spread buffet comprising of
Indian and Mediterranean dishes. A delightful lunch later, we were ready to
check out from the hotel. We thanked the manager for the delightful
stay at Hilton Garden Inn and took with us beautiful memories.
