The energy flow starts with the quality of food. I cannot be more elated to describe my recent culinary odyssey at Monsoon café, Aerocity. Here the experience is cherished the moment you step inside. Located Worldmark 1, Aerocity, this place is a must visit for people who love experimenting with food.
First impressions
Soft lights and a warm vibe welcome you as you walk inside the space. The décor is subtle yet speaks a thousand words. The plants added in each corner only accentuate the experience. Simplicity is the key word here, so you can find minimalistic seating arrangement. You can be assured of great service with an added touch of warm hospitality. The chef in charge, Mr. Udit has added a creative twist in each dish thus making the experience holistic.
Food Review
We got to experience a fine taste of luxury at the Chef’s table. The menu was curated keeping in mind the exotic combination of wine and food.
Podi idli paired with Fratelli wines Noi sparking –
The most amazing thing about these idlis was the cumulative tossing of dry flax seed podi dressing, augmented by the sharpness of the Fratelli wine. The pairing itself was an uninspired mélange that tantalized our taste buds.
Beetroot Shikampuri with Grover Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc Reserve –
The artistic combination of beetroot and wine from Grover’s serves as a medley of flavors.
The beetroot kebabs had a lovely texture and have enough inherent flavors to stand up to the subtleness of the Blanc Reserve.
Buckwheat Pancakes paired with Fratelli MS Chardonnay
Honestly, this is the sort of pancakes that would be a favorite for healthy eaters. The ingredients were surprisingly respectable. Rather than consisting of bitty, airy and reconstituted mash – they were reasonably soft and golden on the outside. The chardonnay was a top notch choice for the pairing.
Tinda, Matar Curry served with Fratelli Wines MS Rose Sangiovese
This was a lovely dish. The tinda matar curry is a beautifully rich and flavored dish made with tomato and fenugreek. The release of delicious aroma of the curry only wants you to dig into the dish. The wine we had with it was delicate and fragrant.
Broccoli Makhani served with Grover Vineyard LA Reserve Red
This dish kept its texture really well, cooked with malai marinade and flavored with spices including with tomato and green chili, along with little shreds of ginger. The gravy was absolutely superb, the spices beautifully balanced. The basket of naans, paranthas and rotis breads was also impressive. The texture of each bread was soft and supple. The stuffed naan, enriched with spices was brilliant. The Grover Vineyard LA Reserve was a brooding concoction of matured red fruits and sweet spices softened by delicate oak.
The sweet nothings arrived in the form of salted caramel kheer. Garnished with a salted caramel made with jaggery and roasted almonds this dessert concludes the food review in a wonderful manner.
