Vivanta by Taj surprises you with the immensely successful Sound Lab series powered by The
DJ Dispensary for the third time
since its introduction in 2014.


The Sound Lab series is part of
Vivanta’s avatar line-up of “unexpected standout experiences”. Come and
explore the music created by the voracious singer who has adopted a unique approach
in alternative education. The Sound Lab series takes traditional classroom
culture and gives it a completely new touch of cool. In keeping with its young,
energetic vibe, Vivanta by Taj debuted the Sound Lab series at its high-energy
bars in Mumbai, Gurgaon and Chennai in January, followed by Bangalore and
Hyderabad in June in the first half of 2014.
The season III was also held at Tease, Vivanta by Taj – Gurgaon on October 9th
– 11th, 2014.
 
Founder and DJ Matty Wainwright
from the UK held personalized tutorials through 101s on ‘how to be a DJ’. Opened
to both residents and guests, each Master Class priced at US$300 (INR 18,000)
per person was tailored to give an up close and personal one-on-one training
with the tutors, a DJ Dispensary Survival Kit, a ‘live’ mix and images from
your class. Perfect even for busy city slickers.

“From a personal viewpoint, the Vivanta Sound Lab series powered by The
DJ Dispensary aims to give its participants a clear understanding of what it
takes to stand in a DJ booth and present a personal musical account of yourself
with a strong emphasis on reading the crowd and building a set.” says
Matty.

Spinning in the UK since 1998,
Matty recently appeared as DJ Mentor for the Asia-wide MTV: Colab series and
has held residencies in Subsix at NIYAMA by Per AQUUM in the Maldives, the
world’s first underwater music club, Skylite in Abu Dhabi and has participated
in festivals like Reading & Leeds, Stella Artois After Dark, both the
Singapore and Abu Dhabi F1 and was Music Director for Nicole Farhi at London
Fashion Week.

During his career, Matty has
played alongside class acts such as Jose Padilla, Breakbot, Norman Jay, Bottin,
David Holmes, Goldroom and more. Matty is bound to the Hundred Schools of
Thought in the DJ world, stirring up the melting pot of old and new, playing
anything from House, Disco, Rare Grooves and Boogie to Balearic, Broken Beats
and AOR.

From Café del Mar to Cream to
Ministry of Sound, DJ Tutor Phil Cooper brings over 20 years of international
DJ experience with him. Currently running his record label, NuNorthern Souls, his
eclectic music taste and his passion as an avid music collector sees him
working with both established and developed artists. NuNorthern Soul has been
championed by Gilles Peterson, Rob Da Bank, Craig Charles and has been
regularly featured in stations from Berlin to Los Angeles.
Over the years, Vivanta by Taj
has built a reputation for innovative, high energy bars within their
