Alwar Bagh Sariska by Aamod – A Heritage and luxury property in Alwar

These days there have been a lot of demand for weekend getaway destinations. Thankfully the road connectivity has made it possible for travel enthusiasts like me to visit places nearby Delhi. This time I shall be talking about a beautiful place called Alwar. Located barely 3 hours drive from Delhi, this
place has several reasons to explore.

But my recommendation for the place to stay is Alwar Bagh Sariska by Aamod. Aamod has several properties across India that echo hospitality, luxury and comfort.

Breathtaking viewsI visited the place on a long weekend with my family and I have to admit my experience was more than luxurious. We started off from our place at 11 am and reached at 2 PM, since there was some traffic on the highway. The best suggestion is to use the GPS while driving; as it helps you to take the fastest route.

We arrived during lunch at the hotel. The large gate opened up and a smiling guard welcomed us. After the formalities of check-in, we were escorted to the family suite. While walking towards the room, I couldn’t help but notice the green hues and magnificent landscaping. What impressed me the most was the recycled tyres used as planters for plants. The sound of birds and squirrels made me fall in love with the place.

The Family Suite

The family suite opened up to a wide space that was well lit and beautifully decorated. Soothing drapes, a wide almirah with safe, basic amenities like tables and chairs and large bed with soft sheets and pillows completed the luxury factor.

Tea and coffee sachets and kettle was also kept. But what I loved most was the spectacular view of the aravalis right outside from my window. This was the most cherishable thing for me. The spacious washroom is well equipped with all the luxury amenities.

Dining

After freshening up, we moved toward the restaurant. The place was filled up with guests and yet it seemed spacious enough to cater to a large number of people. We took our seats and enjoyed the buffet that had some interesting Indian and continental dishes lined up. There was a good selection of salads and juices too.

I ordered for some buttermilk and loved the fresh mint on top of the chilled glass. We preferred to move back to the room for some sleep after the heavy lunch. The soft bed sheets and duvet were simply perfect to help us sleep deeply. A loud thunder woke me up few minutes later and as I peeped outside, I could see the soft drizzle outside. The place looked beautiful with the green hues looking brighter than ever.

The smell of fresh crisp air and the wet mud enlivened my senses. We ordered for some masala tea to add to the beautiful moment. The room service is quick and efficient and ensures the order is received well on time. We loved the tea and cookies and the beautiful view from our window.

The property

We took a small walk around the property. A small cage with rabbits, guinea pigs and birds is kept near the reception that is well taken care of by the team. There is a wide open area for adventure sports that has trained people to guide guests.

Besides that, there is a badminton court that attracted me towards it. I loved playing this sport as it helps in fitness and is extremely enjoyable.

After playing few games we moved towards the other part of the property. There is a swimming pool and an open area that is perfect for pool side parties. A small temple is also constructed in the property for devotees.

There are rooms on the ground and the first level that are under the base category, premium category and Royal suites. Each room is well refurbished to meet the guests needs. It was dusk and so we decided to go for a swim. After swimming for about an hour, we had an early dinner comprising of some simple Indian dishes like lentils, vegetables and breads.

The day ended on a lovely note. The next day I woke up early to the sounds of birds and moved for an early morning walk to the nearby temple. The activity leader accompanied me and helped in my trek. We moved past a village and climbed the mountains to see a breath taking view of the mountains. The freshness in the air, the silence in the atmosphere, the captivating scenic surrounding satiated my senses. It was at that moment I realized how beautiful Nature can be. We reached the temple and after some prayers, moved back towards the hotel.

The sun had risen and spread the rays across the beautiful property and enlivened each corner. We went towards the restaurant for a hearty breakfast. I was impressed with the wide verities of breakfast options that included puri chhole, smabhar idli, paranthas and eggs to order. But I took some upma and relished it with some tomato dips. I also helped myself with some sprouts and fruits that looked fresh and yummy. While having breakfast we discussed about planning the itenary for the day.

The Manager had suggested us to visit the Alwar fort and the bangle bazaar that are quite nearby
from the hotel.

We got ready and moved towards the alwar fort with the tour guide in our car. The uphill ride towards the fort was a very beautiful one as we got to see a dense forest and a spectacular view of the Alwar city. The view is magnificent and the road is well maintained. On reaching the fort, we managed to see a large canon that was used by the king during medieval period. For people who love culture and heritage, this place is a recommend one.

Next we moved towards the bangle bazaar. The market place is chaotic, so it’s best to use public transport for convenience. Small lanes are decked up with shops that have lac bangles, shoes, dupataas and much more. The colourful extravaganza is indeed very magnificent as you get to buy several things that aren’t available in Delhi.

Nature at its bestAfter the shopping experience, we moved back towards the hotel for some hot lunch. We took a nap as the shopping had made us tired. We woke up in the evening and went to see the rabbits and guinea
pigs. It’s amazing to watch the tiny creatures play around. We got to hold them in our hands and feed them. After a lazy walk around the property, we ordered for some tea and cookies on the lawn. The weather had become magnificent after the brief downpour. The swaying trees and the flight of the birds accentuated the experience even further.

The day was coming to an end and we closed it with a light dinner near the poolside. Luckily the weather was amazing for a poolside dinner. We loved the Chinese food and the service. Next morning we were ready to leave the Alwarbagh back to Delhi but the entire experience still lingers on even now. Alwar is a jewel in Rajasthan that reverberates with the charming forts, magnificent markets, and warm hospitality and there cannot be a better place than Alwar Bagh Sariska by Aamod that reflects the charm of this quaint city.
