Experience Beirut at Lebanos

Delhi’s
first café-cum-bar on a pure Lebanese concept, LEBANOS, was launched
with much fanfare and wine on 3rd May. After the immense success of
TC, Route04 and 100% Rock across the national capital and Jaipur,
Lebanos is the latest venture by Manish and Rajiv Choudhary, in
partnership with Parminder Singh Chahal.

Amidst
wine, mezze platters and the national dish of Lebanon – kibbeh,
soulful sufi and lounge music adorned the atmosphere as
filigree-lamps of turquoise hues created dancing shadows much like
Beirut’s bars and its eclectic people.

Designed
as a Lebanese café by day, Lebanos acquires the hues and spirit of
Beirut’s present-day bars as the sun goes down. A turquoise/azure
motif, representative of the colour of the evil eye across this
region, finds its presence across the graphic and interior design,
custom-made tiles and the specially designed trellis faux-archways
racing across one wall.

White
and blue are the colours of Lebanos, and hints of the region’s
limestone architecture can also be found as part of the experience.
The filigree lampshades at Lebanos are dotted across the region – in
homes, street side cafes, quaint shops – here too, watch the
shadows cast by them and dance to the tunes of soulful lounge music
from the erstwhile Ottoman Empire region.
Music,
wine and vibe – Beirut of the 1960s was ahead of the world in
bringing together these elements for a great experience. With an
in-house DJ, wine-coloured select upholstery and a great culinary
journey, they’ve done their bit – now it’s time for Delhi to walk
in and create a vibe attributed to one of the finest cities ever
known.
