The Sunday Brunch at Vivanta By Taj, Surajkund

Here is a chance to zest up your lazy Sunday afternoon with a
detonation of flavor, aroma and hospitality. The Vivanta by Taj Sunday Brunch
experience gives its diners delectable options of South Asian food and amazing beverages
to please your senses.
We have no words to appreciate the quality of food and the
brilliant hospitality that was showered on us at the review of a Sunday Brunch
at Vivant by Taj, Surajkund. The warm suns kissed outdoors are perfect to relax
while gorging on some of the most lip smacking delicacies that the chef dishes
out.
An outdoor tepenyaki counter gives diners a flavorsome Sunday
brunch with exotic recipes to pick and choose in Veg, Chicken and sea food.
Continue the gastronomical odyssey outdoors or move towards the indoors to
feast your eyes on the amazing spread of the finest salads, dishes and
desserts.

Once inside, you can see how the management has extended a
lot of time to present a chic ambience with soft lighting and wooden interiors.
There is spacious room between tables to allow privacy. The choice is exhaustive at the Sunday Brunch. You can choose
from a smorgasbord of light salad. The colorful spread is as enticing as the
taste. There are several dips to choose from and the pita bread with humus is
something you should not miss. I was lured by the most beautifully textured
salads.

The brunches on Sunday have different themes like Indian and
Pan Asian to devour. The essence is to give a variety to diners while keeping
the quality consistent. We had the privilege to experience a South Asian theme.
The attendants ensured we were looked after very well.
The soups that were served exhibited the perfection in taste
and quality that required no additional sauces. The manchow soup devoid of
cornflour is perfect for a healthy start, while the Thukpa served as a part of
the thematic cuisine was even better. The warm soup with vegetables and noodles
is a complete mini meal itself.
However, the journey to satiation has just began and there is
more to devour. The attendants serve us starters that are mouth-watering and
scrumptious. Each one of them is freshly prepared and exhibits the chef’s
talent. A crispy Fish dry chili is
placed before us. The pieces are tender and soft. The crispy chicken dialed up
the spice factor that made me enjoy a tall glass of the ‘Easy Way’ – a delicious
drink made with crushed ice, lemon widgets, mint leaves, lemonade syrup.
The exhaustive brunch menu and the A la carte menu at
Vivanta boast a broad range of seafood and chicken dishes. A basket of dimsums
is an essential part of the Asian cuisine with sauces that enhanced the flavors
of these steamed treats. Dimsums literally mean, “To tap your heart”
and that is what they exactly did. I was very impressed by the variety. The
appealing line-up of dimsums and entrées are exhaustive enough for a person to
return several times.

The varieties that follow are vegetable, chicken and duck. I
am not really a duck lover, so that was skipped. However, the vegetable dimsum is perfect in presentation,
freshness and taste. The mildly done vegetables are soft and tender. Everything
we ate emitted flavor and freshness as we devoured from basket to basket. There
are many more enticing dimsums to enjoy at the Sunday Brunch, but we just had
to pace ourselves for the next course.

The starter that followed was the murgh malai paneer, which is a perfect combination of salt and
pepper. The salt is mild while the pepper in the chicken highlights the overall
flavor of the dish that is prepared in butter. The crispy corn n pepper was as flavorful as it looked. The chicken and peanut in chunkin style served
with spring onions is the right choice for a lover of nuts and onions. The
crispiness of chicken is perfectly done with the peanuts and spring onions.

Packed to the brim we had absolutely no space for the main
course. However, we were enticed by the aroma of the cuisines that were spread
in the buffet.I had a generous portion of the Vietnamese chicken that had a peppery essence. The curry perked the
flavor of Jasmine rice. The Stir Fried
Chicken
with black pepper and garlic had a gripping earthiness that
retained its tenderness throughout. To balance these dishes, I took some stir-fried
vegetables that were fresh and aromatic.

My personal favorite however was ‘ Thai green
curry in chicken’. The curry blended with coconut milk and lemongrass goes
perfect with plain rice.A hearty conversation with the hospitable staff and chef
helped to pave the main course and soon it was time for dessert. If you have a
sweet tooth, you are assured to have a delicious treat here.
The chocolate
fountain entices foodies with its rich texture that goes well with marshmallows
and cakes. The kiwi pastry and the cup cakes should also not be missed. The Sunday brunch is frequented by guests staying at the
hotel and it has already started attracting families and corporate. There are
unique recreational activities to participate in while you enjoy your day at
Vivanta By Taj, Surajkund. Try your hand with some pot making exercise with an
outsourced artisan from a village in Delhi. You will be astounded by the skill
set & patience that he exudes while teaching guests.

A tour of the Taj property is necessary after the heavy
lunch. The f&b manager was kind enough to take us around the huge property
that was a reflection of grandeur and elegance. Overlooking the famous Surajkund
fair grounds, the property has a roof top pool deck that looks beautiful in the
evenings. The Jiva spa has the best therapies to experience if you are looking
for a relaxing experience. The therapy rooms comprise the traditional Ayurveda
rooms and the International massage rooms.
I highly recommend the thematic Asian Sunday Brunch at the
Vivanta By Taj to enjoy the excellent Thai creations of the chef.
