GT Road – A Luxury Culinary Trail of India

Indian food carries with it several
hidden stories of taste and flavor that help you connect better with your
motherland. I was indeed grateful to experience a culinary odyssey of India at the
latest entrant GT Road in Ambiance Mall Gurgaon.

First Impressions
The entrance rejoices in
brilliant hues of the Indian spices that are alluring in aroma and appearance.
The essence of GT Road takes the guest on an odyssey through different states.
The stimulating journey gives
diners a chance to experience the rich diversity in flavors of the Indian cuisine.
GT Road celebrates the distinct identity of unique & varied cultures of India,
all of who immensely value their tradition.
The menu reflects the best of each
state, drawing inspiration from the distinguished culinary history of the
respective regions while creating an urban dining experience.
The restaurant has a decent
seating capacity of 70 people and a spectacular view through their big bay
windows.  Once when you are seated in the
luxury restaurant, you’ll definitely become familiar with the warmth and
hospitality.
I was awe struck by the
magnificent designing with pictures of Maharajas stating their classic appeal.
Our servers placed different condiments to relish with our meal –pickles and
fresh coriander chutney. Our server Raji, a very pleasant person was extremely helpful
in introducing us to the different flavors of different states.
We were served a unique spicy
pineapple on a skewer – it was tangy and sweet at the same time. He later served us some lip
smacking kababs and tikkas. We tried the Malai chicken which was accentuated
with spices and herbs. The Paneer Tikka was the softest paneer tikka I have
ever tasted.
The dahi ke kabab was one thing my mother simply devoured. The tikkas
were heavenly but to relish the main course, we preferred to walk around and
see the buffet spread.
A counter at the far end of the
restaurant has a section of interesting chaats and snacks that we relished. I loved
the raj kachori served in a small spoon. Loved the presentation. The aroma of
the buffet spread was making me hungry and we picked our plates to try the
dishes.
I tried the black daal – The black
lentils were gently cooked with aromatic spices and finished with fresh cream
and mint. We loved the aroma and devoured the dish. The Palak Paneer was a totally
different take on spinach which is gently tempered with whole red chilies and
garlic and finished with butter – a work of art.
The fish curry tempered with ginger
and garlic also tasted delicious. The flat pieces of naans, cooked quickly at
very high heat, with the charring and puffing look beautiful in appearance and
taste delicious.
We loved the main course and were
floored even further when we tried the desserts. The phirni stole my heart with the richness of milk and saffron that
tempted me to dig in the flavor. The review came to an end and we
thanked Mr. Balbir, the restaurant Manager for the experience.
The fine dining
Indian restaurant located at the 4th level in Ambience mall is open
for guests for lunch from 12 to 3 pm and for dinner between 6 pm to 12 pm.
