Days of the Raj – By-gone era comes alive

The opulence and grandeur of the by-gone era can be witnessed at the pristine surroundings of the Days of The Raj. Re-done and established, the classic restaurant is a masterpiece in its own style.Located in Adchini, the restaurant has started acquiring a huge fan

following list.

Step into the restaurant located at the first floor of the Qutub
residency and you are literally transcended into the days of the Raj.We reviewed the restaurant only
to find the service upper class and prompt. The manager escorted us towards the
finest seat next to the window sil.

Every corner of the restaurant spoke in
volumes about the dominant role  played by the Maharajas. Comfortable seating
arrangement, spacious walk  in area, subtle hues on the walls, and rifles
displayed at the bar counter, The  days of The Raj was surely an eye pleaser.
We started our review with a
cooler to cool  down our heels. The warm summer afternoon    had parched our
throats and a chilled drink was something we wanted first. While my partner  settled with a chilled Budweiser, I was happy      with a Virgin Colada.

The menu was a display of the
most authentic mughlai dishes I can imagine. We tried experimenting with the
flavors of the Raj by ordering Dhaniya Aur
Gol Mirch Ki Seekh
–  a brilliant
combination of spices flavored in cream.

The Machhi Tikka and the Spicy
Panner Tikka
with onions and bell peppers were definitely worth tasting.
With raw onions and mint chutneys on the side, these starters are the best one
to order. The Rajasthani murgh ke sool that we ordered next was an authentic royal
cuisine that should be tried by people who try experimenting with flavors.

I had to try the salad at the restaurant and
I found the Koshambee salad to be the most interesting one with a delicious
combination of freshly cut veggies spruced with lime and pepper. The chef is
kind enough to keep it light minus the heavy cream and dips. This one is a must
try for people who are weight watchers.

Two highly recommended soups are the Royal
Velvet Chicken soup and Creamed Mushroom soup.
Seasoned with herbs and spices, the mildly flavored chicken soup has a
spicy intonation that does justice to its name while the creamed mushroom is
vocal with its blend of mushrooms.

We were filled to the brim but
the main course was still pending. The manager insisted on trying some of the
signature cuisines of the restaurant. The Grilled Cottage Cheese With BBQ Sauce
that was ordered was fine and could have been better if more attention was
given on the sauce. The Roasted Exotic Vegetable In Rosemary Sauce was equally
the same if only the vegetables were stir fried for a while. The raw vegetables
were easily ignored by the fine aroma of herbs and spices.

We paid more
attention on the Lahori Murgh Masala
and Old Delhi Changhezi Murgh. The Lahori Murgh Masala was indeed a purely
Nawaab style delicacy with a higher intonation of spices while the Old Delhi Changhezi murgh spelled the
old world charm of Delhi 6 flavors. We devoured the dishes with chicken biryani
and curd. The spices were just right and the flavors worked their magic well on
our senses.

The classic odyssey needs a finer
ending and the Days Of The Raj ensured that the meal ended on a sweet note. The
Tila Kulfi and Gur ki kheer, authentic Indian desserts added class to the food
review. Kulfi never tasted so good before and the kheer made with jaggery was
the perfect end to the meal.

Days of The Raj ensures you have
a perfect dining experience. If you are yearning to be treated like a King or
Queen, indulge in the finest dishes for an unforgettable experience of a
lifetime.
