Fun Fitness Social – A healthier beginning with Le Meridien Gurgaon

How many of us make resolutions each year and actually stand by them? This year I was 100 % sure to make my fitness goal a priority. That’s what attracted me to Le Meridien’s event ‘Fun Fitness Social’  that kickstarted on the 9th January this year.

time, the hotel took a step forward in making guests healthy and fit with ‘
Fun Fitness Social’.

 
Every Saturday
is dedicated to power packed workout followed by a delectable lunch
charted by the very talented Chef Tanveer. The delicacies are loaded with
health and nutrition that are pleasing to the eye and light on the stomach.
 
I put on my fitness gear and tied up my
running shoes to be a part of a kickass fitness regime with Shelly – a fabulous
instructor who spends almost 80% of her time at the gym. 
 
I reached the pool
deck on time and was welcomed by an Antioxidant shot prepared with almond milk,
pear juice and fresh turmeric spruced with chocolate shavings. The welcome
drink was delicious and refreshing as it had the perfect ingredient to speed up
metabolism.
 
We met
Shelly who was the perfect example of fitness. The warm sun and the wind
blowing made the day perfect for a workout. The guests arrived and we began the session. 
 
After a warm up session that included jogging on the spot, we
rolled our mats on the floor and followed Shelly’s instructions. The areas targeted were the core, lunges, thighs and legs. We did squats, leg raise,
crunches, and planks in 3 sets. The conclusion part included some stretching
exercising followed by relaxation.
 
The 45
minute workout was indeed very exciting and I could already feel energized and fresh. The exercise surely increased our appetites
and we were enthralled to see the juices served before us. 
 
The juices included Root
vegetable, cucumber, 
apple and mint, orange and kaffir lime which were
absolutely fresh devoid of any sugar or artificial flavoring. I loved them all.
The next surprise was a delectable Yoghurt cup that was topped with mixed
berries and Muesli bars – delightful to see and tangy to the palette.
 
The Chilled soba
noodle salad and Orange cumin chili with olives that followed were screaming
health. I loved the Sweet potato and quinoa burgers. 
 
The Chef’s specialty, the
sweet potato is the healthier replacement for potatoes which were shallow fried in extra
virgin oil. 
 
I didn’t have the palette for the Smoked edamame beans with pink
salt. Maybe I was too over stuffed. The next dish was Tuna with yuzu and flying
fish roe, which I preferred to give it a miss since I don’t eat Tuna.
 
The Brown
rice bibimbap was delicious and the Steamed broccoli with spicy Nahm pla was
highly flavorsome.
I was very elated with the team who ensured we enjoy every minute at the Le Meridien Gurgaon and make the best of our weekend.I met some really nice people and became friends with them.
