My baking experience with G’s Patisserie

Last week was a very interesting one as I experienced a baking session with a young and talented baker Gauri who is passionate for baking. A B-School Graduate from Oxford University who spent over 10 subsequent years working with corporate companies (London, Mumbai & New Delhi),

one disappointing cake at her reception became the perfect recipe for
her career in cake making and there was no looking back ever since. She is now
a pastry chef with her own patisserie.

Although she has worked with some
of the finest companies, her calling was cake making. A small shop is filled
with sumptuous aroma of cake ingredients that smell delicious.
A warm welcome
by the team of G’s Patisserie and I was all ready to start my first ever baking
experience. Gauri ensures she gets trained on the latest recipes and ingredients with world’s best chefs.
We tasted fresh biscotti, cookies
and her signature Red Velvet Cake.  We baked lemon tarts – from
baking the shell, to lining it with chocolate that prevents it from going
moist. Later, we added lemon curd for the lemon tarts and chocolate ganache for the
chocolate tarts and finally garnished it with interesting edible decorations
that looked beautiful and tasted heavenly.
Gauri’s Patisserie or G’s
Patisserie.
It is about combining the joy of
baking with a focus on getting the classic flavors nailed right!
The exhaustive
menu ranges from her signature cakes such as double chocolate cake with
chocolate ganache or spiced carrot to France-inspired croquembouche, handmade
dessert sauces, pavlova, tarts, pies, wedding extravaganza cakes and elegant
cupcakes.
If innovation is what you’re
finding, then the lemon pillow cake, Zucchini with white chocolate mousse and
edible garden are where the magic begins and carries on endlessly.
You’re spoilt for choice and all G’s
Patisserie requires is a few hours notice to whip up a delight from the dessert
kitchen located in South Delhi.
A few of her signature Products at the workshop:
Red Velvet – heart-shaped red
velvets where media was encouraged to do their own piping
Tasting of fresh Pound Cake to
differentiate from tea cakes in the city, disguised as pound cakes
Tasting of Biscottis and Cookies,
especially paired with lemon card and the whisky chocolate jars
Choco Pops to take home – a
fun thing at an easy price at G’s Patisserie
