Auspicious Flavors of Navratra @ AnnaMaya, Andaz

Reviewing a Navratra Thali while fasting was a challenge for me as I was very finicky about the utensils used while cooking and also the ingredients that went in. But when I received an invitation to review the Navratra Thali at AnnaMaya in Andaz, I didn’t think twice.

We were eager to devour the organic flavors for which AnnaMaya is famous for.
While
heading towards AnnaMaya, I couldn’t help notice the aroma of fresh herbs and
organic vegetables that were spread in the air. A whiff of freshness and a dash
of warm hospitality make this place a winner.
AnnaMaya is spread out quite
well, offering space, comfort and privacy to diners. The wide area has tables that
are well laid and decently spaced. The place is perfect for a huge family gathering,
couples or even business clients.
The live kitchen has smiling performers who
prepares succulent meals and serve with love. It is a privilege to watch the performers in action. The decor depicts the Delhi essence in various art forms and miniature pieces.
We took our place near the juice
bar that has amazing juicy delights made with fresh fruits devoid of any artificial
flavors. We ordered for a watermelon and pineapple juice.  A little later, the F&B Manager arrived and
welcomed us with a warm smile. The menu that he was carrying comprised of the
Navratra Thali.
A little later, the Thali was served. The Maharaj had prepared a fine
thaali that looked colorful and delightful. The aim remains at showcasing
authentic, traditional navratri Thali, preparing them using pure ingredients, yet
adding an avant-garde element to the whole menu and creating an unparalleled
culinary experience.
The delicacies included sabudana
papad, dahi bhalla, kaju ki curry, aloo chura, shahi paneer, aloo ki subji,
sabudana kheer, samvak chawal, kottu poori. The deep flavors of kaju ki curry
and the toothsome sabudana papad placated our taste buds.
The shahi paneer with tangy flavors stood out,
while the aloo ki subji  prepared with
ghee and cumin seeds stole my heart. They were both synonymous with heavenly
bliss.
We relished the dishes with kuttu
ki poori and samvak chawal that matched well with the simple ingredients of the
dishes. The sabudana kheer and kaju katli were the perfect closure to the
saatvik meal. The sabudana kheer  is a
refreshing change to the usual take on regular kheer.

The Thaali experience @ Annamaya was a
blissful odyssey where I experienced peace and satisfaction in each bite.
