Town Hall Khan Market – Delectable food served with love

It is a very famous saying that
true satisfaction of a meal comes from the way it is served. And the saying can
be only further proved with Chef Augustus and Chef Bhaskar with their love in
the dishes they prepare so meticulously.

This Town Hall restaurant review shall always be
remembered because of the special touch and warmth that was showered while
dining.
Chef Augustus is the man behind the Town Hall restaurant since 4 years
and has always come up with exquisite dishes to satiate the diner’s appetite.
The review at the Town Hall
Restaurant in Khan Market is a brilliant concoction of Thai Japanese and Chinese
cuisines thrown in.
The Approach –

Reaching Khan Market is not so
difficult. While you enter the wide parking area on a weekend, chances are
you might struggle for parking, but on a weekday there is ample space to park.
The entire building of Town Hall looks different from any other restaurant. We
took the stairs and reached the first floor where we were greeted by four
beautiful attendants who ushered us to our reserved table. I loved it how my
name was written on the placard placed on the table.
The place sparkled with
contemporary and aesthetic interiors with a well-defined fine dine area.
The
tone was kept low with old classic shades signifying the fine taste in
aesthetics. Low lights in every corner gave a hint of softness to the ambiance.
The space was enough to take care
of a large gathering. Tables with enough space were well placed to give diners
ease to enjoy their meal. The bar at the entrance consisted of
expert bartender making exotic mocktails and cocktails.
The Craftsmen – Chef Augustus and Chef Bhaskar

Chef Augusto

The food menu at Town Hall has
been designed by Master Chef, turned ‘Entrepreneur Chef’, Augusto Cabrera, who
artistry has been showcased through the various dishes on offer at the
restaurant.
A renowned Sushi Chef, he is credited with playing a major role in
popularizing Sushi in a modern avatar in the Middle East and India. Emphasis on
quality, freshness of ingredients and clear and distinct flavors are the
Hallmarks of Chef Augusto’s unique style.
With a culinary experience
spanning over a decade at some of the World’s leading hotels, Chef Cabrera is
an expert in both traditional and modern Japanese cuisine, and of course his
travels and experience from around the Globe has meant he has also come full
circle as a Chef and has mastered the art of Contemporary World Cuisine, which
is essentially a blend of flavors, ingredients and styles from the World over
which are in turn churned out on your plate in a modern and trendy style.
Extremely talented and creative
by nature, Chef Augusto’s expertise lies in the innovative concoctions of
modern Japanese Cuisine especially Sushi, which he believes, will be his
personal all time favorite and absolute passion. Also being a world traveller
Chef has been curating the menus for all his three restaurants Town Hall, Public
Affair and Mr. Choy in Multi cuisine in his own style.  He also encouraged a lot a of food promotions
like Peruvian, Turkish, Korean, Vietnamese etc to always amaze his diners.
Chef Bhasker

Coming from the City of Nawabs, Lucknow,
he started his culinary journey from Mumbai ITC Grand Maratha in the Year 2007. Moving on to The Oberoi New Delhi he learned Sushi from the
Master Sushi Chef Augusto. Since then his core became Japanese but still got a
chance to train himself in other cuisines as well. He opened Public Affair and Mr. Choy and is currently taking care of
the brand as an Executive Chef.
My experience

The menu is conceptualized in
such a way that all the dishes and ingredients are perfectly suited for any
reason and season. The menu has Japanese, Chinese and of course Thai creations
for a wholesome and healthy sea food experience. The ingredients are high on
health quotient and keep you satiated for long.
The wide variety of dishes made
from prawns, squids, lobster and variety of fish makes the dining experience @Town hall extremely palatable and delightful.
We were served delectable appetizers
to begin with. The Kaizen Maki: First time in the World, is Chef
Augusto’s Signature sushi with Black Rice and Salmon.
The sushi is soft and tender that
goes well with chilli bean dip, that accentuates the flavor, while the stuffing gives justice to the combination of the outer covering.
The next was Shokunin maki :
Another Signature Roll made with chopped toro (fatty tuna) tempura flakes, salmon
eggs and unagi sauce. I have to admit this was the best sushi I have ever tried.
The dishes scream of flavor and look terrific in presentation.
The next dish was Chicken and
Spinach Dimsum: Succulent chicken dimsums with spinach and a sweet spicy sauce.
The Dimsums give true justice to the Chinese main land with its consistent
flavor in every bite. This dish is highly recommended for people who love chicken
filled dimsums.
Fillipino Barbeque Pork Belly:
One of the most popular dish on the menu with sliced Belgium pork belly in Chef
Augusto’s secret marinade. A favorite at Townhall, this dish is popular with
lot of people including celebrities and food critic who devour it each time
they visit the place.

Town hall Noodle: Thin vermicelli
rice noodles with curry oil and Asian vegetables cooked in Filipino style. Extremely
light and palatable, this dish is a highly recommended for light food
eaters.

The crunchy vegetables mix well with the noodles making the dish ten on
ten. The epilogue to the delicious story was the Thai Herb crusted Grilled Chicken:
Chicken Thai rubbed with lemongrass, galangal and kefir lime served grilled
with garlic rice.

The hint of Thai herbs kept the
flavor subtle while empowering the taste of chicken. The dish was respectable,
with thin skins and nicely browned exteriors. The spicy intonation is mixed quite
well. The chicken with Thai herbs had fresh garlic and ground pepper, which
served as the perfect match with sticky rice. I fell in love with this dish.
It’s a shame not to mention the
perfectly blended cocktails we had while devouring our meal. The Russian Affair
is a concoction of fresh red apples and kaffir lime that plays well along with
vodka and dash of Jerry Thomas bitter, while the Hot Asian perfectly suits the
name given.

The combination of Thai chilli infused Vodka with fresh pineapple
and green apple makes this drink the winner amongst all. As my family devours
the drinks, I enjoy my Nutritious Combination of fresh juices of Apple, Beetroot
and Carrot. We were filled to the brim but
still kept the palette prepared for the dessert. The chef prepared some exotic
fresh cinnamon cake served with ice cream.  The cake and the ice cream mingle well with each
other. I felt that the sweetness of the dessert was as heartwarming as the
entire food review.
